“1000 Lbs Sisters” reality star Tammy Slaton has finally reached the weight needed to undergo her Bariatric surgery. Earlier this year, Tammy hit 717 lbs, the biggest she’s ever been. At the time, she had just left a food addiction rehab center; however, his weight was not what he and his family expected.
The reality star, who struggled with booze, vaping and depression, ended up going back to rehab, a move she says was “hard” for her. Tammy’s return to the facility was prompted by a health scare she had in early January. He couldn’t breathe, and after being rushed to the hospital, a tube was inserted down his throat to provide some relief.

Tammy Slaton Reaches Goal Weight For Surgery

People magazine recently revealed that Tammy has reached and surpassed her target weight to be approved for surgery. In a clip from Tuesday’s episode of the show provided by the magazine, the reality star is with her two sisters, Misty and Amanda, when she learns that she has lost more than 180 pounds.
Tammy weighed around 717 lbs when she checked into a weight loss rehabilitation facility located in Ohio, a number she admitted was the biggest she had ever experienced. In a recent clip, he revealed that he decided to lose weight to 550 lbs in order for him to be approved for surgery.
“I need to get to 550 pounds. for me to be approved for surgery,” said the reality star. “Until then, I didn’t like getting on the scale. My worst fear was gaining weight. I didn’t want to disappoint my family or myself.”

When Tammy stood on the scale, the doctor told her that she was down to 534 pounds, 16 pounds below the required weight for surgery. Amanda said to him, “B— are you serious? Really? Tammy, you saw that!”
Tammy’s other sister, Misty, revealed that she was “so excited” and proud of the reality star for reaching her target weight for surgery. “When I got on the scale, and I saw the scale at 534.7, I kind of stopped breathing for a second. I was like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop,” Tammy said.
The reality star continued, “I did that! I feel excited, proud, excited — just all the emotions. I proved everyone wrong. Everyone who doubted me, I finally got mine! The I-told-you-so moment!”
He Wants To ‘Finish’ His Surgery

Still overwhelmed by the good news, Amanda informs Tammy that, hopefully, the reality star is on her way to getting her surgery at the next meeting. In response, Tammy revealed that while she was excited about the achievement and finally being able to have surgery, she wanted to get over it.
In a confession about the episode, Amanda said, “This is what we’ve been waiting for. This is what we are working on. Tammy makes goal weights; it probably means he will end up having surgery. He will finally get this, and the future looks good.”
Amanda also revealed that they could go to another doctor to get approval; however, Tammy needs to achieve the weight loss goals given by Dr. Eric Smith first.
“I know there are several other doctors that he needs to get approval from, but the way I see it before we can meet with those people, he needs to achieve the weight loss goals that Dr. Smith to him and Tammy. that,” added Amanda. “He’s going to do the damned thing.”

Earlier this year, Many people released the “1000-Lb Sisters” teaser, where Tammy is rushed to the hospital. The reality star reportedly “stopped breathing,” and her body, according to Amy, had shut her down. In the footage, Tammy is given a tracheotomy which involves a hole being created in her throat to insert a breathing tube.
This makes it easier for them to provide the reality star with emergency CPR when needed. Still feeling good despite her health issues, Tammy said, “I’m still here, bastard.”
When the reality star asked her doctor if she could go ahead with her Bariatric surgery, he refused and told her she still had a long way to go to lose weight before it was approved.
“I’m telling you, Tammy, you have a real risk,” said Dr. Eric Smith, his surgeon. Chris, Tammy’s brother, replied, “If she didn’t have the surgery, she would die because of her weight.”
