2 killed in fiery crash with tanker truck carrying jet fuel on Pennsylvania Turnpike

Two people were killed and another injured in a three-vehicle crash and fire involving a tanker trailer carrying jet fuel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

A vehicle with a flat tire was stopped in the right northbound lane of the Northeast Extension of Interstate 476 in Worcester Township with a flat tire when other drivers stopped with their hazard lights on to help on Saturday morning, police told WPVI.

A tanker truck driving behind them could not stop in time and crashed into both vehicles, causing a major fire, police said.

The tanker driver and the driver of the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital. Their injuries and conditions are unknown.

The victim has not yet been identified.
