Two people were seriously injured after an electrical fire broke out in a high-rise building in Atlanta that houses the office of a Democratic senator Saturday afternoon.
Atlanta police were called to 271 17th St. in the Atlantic Station neighborhood following reports of a possible explosion in the building where Senator Jon Ossoff’s office is located along with a law firm and residence.
The senator has not spoken publicly about the incident.
An electrical contractor working on the 15th floor suffered a “severe electric shock” and two people were hospitalized, fire officials told 11 Alive.

The building is located across the street from the Overtime Elite Arena and near the Hilton hotel.
The Post has reached out to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department for comment.
