Four people died following what police in Los Angeles described as a murder-suicide in the Granada Hills area on Saturday.
Officers responded just before 7pm to a report of a shooting in the 11600 block of Lerdo Avenue and found four people pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the shooting was a murder-suicide, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
After receiving the call, there was no answer when officers arrived and knocked on the door, police said.
The police forced their way into the house and the survivors directed them to the three victims.
The victims included a man in his late 40s and two women, one in his late 40s and the other in his 80s.
They all died of gunshot wounds, police said.
Officers also found a man in his late 80s dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in another area of the home.
He is believed to have shot the others, police said.
