400 cops searching for escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante after 2 new sightings in Pennsylvania

At least 400 officers, some working 12-hour days, are searching for a dangerous escaped inmate – who continues to elude them despite several sightings in Pennsylvania.

It’s been 10 days since convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante scaled the wall at the Chester County Jail and hustled his way to freedom.

There have been nearly a dozen confirmed sightings — including two on Friday — in Chester County since the 34-year-old Brazilian escaped on Aug. 31, and officials have assigned more police to the hunt, CNN reported Saturday.

“We drew more people in throughout last night,” Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said Friday, adding that state police and other agencies have sent reinforcements.

“We have a lot of tactical teams doing searches.”

State police described Cavalcante as extremely dangerous.

Cavalcante was recently sentenced to life in prison without parole for the fatal stabbing of 33-year-old Deborah Brandao, his ex-girlfriend, while her 7-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son were present in 2021.

He was awaiting transfer to a state facility when he escaped from the Chester County Jail last week by climbing walls, scaling razor wire and jumping from roofs to less secure areas to avoid guards.

A tower guard who “didn’t see” or report the killer’s escape nine days ago was fired Thursday. The guard, an 18-year prison veteran, has not yet been identified.
