A 6-year-old boy set off a terror alert at an airport in northern Turkey by carrying several realistic-looking toy guns in his backpack.
Part of the incident was caught on cellphone video, which shows a relieved police officer laughing with the youngster as he examines his facsimile firearm.
The boy, identified by local media as Selim Köse, was at DHM Yenisehir Airport in Bursa’s Yenisehir district when his bag rang an alarm bell after he put it through an X-ray scanner, which detects weapons.
Police immediately stopped the device and confiscated the small red backpack for closer inspection.
But the scare was short-lived, after police opened the bag and found the weapon was, in fact, a plastic toy.
Footage captured at the airport shows a beaming Selim displaying a fake black gun — and even pulling the trigger — as a policeman sitting next to him laughs.
