70 Palestinians in convoy fleeing northern Gaza killed by airstrike, Israel denies involvement

An airstrike on a convoy fleeing northern Gaza killed at least 70 people, including children as young as two, according to reports.

A further 200 people were injured in the incident, which took place on a safe route along Salah al-Din Street in Gaza City on Friday evening.

The road was filled with vehicles as Palestinians tried to flee the area ahead of Israel’s deadline to evacuate Gaza, according to one report.

The Israel Defense Forces denied responsibility for the deadly blast, saying there were no signs they were behind it.

The IDF has given more than one million civilians 24 hours to flee to southern Gaza via two main roads between 10 am and 4 pm Saturday, local time.
