‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star John Schneider denies calling for President Biden to be ‘publicly hung’ in deleted tweet

“Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider denied calling for President Joe Biden to be “publicly hanged” Thursday in a since-deleted tweet.

“Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hanged,” Schneider, 63, wrote in a message recorded by multiple outlets. “Your son too,” he added, possibly referring to Hunter.

“Your answer is..? Sincerely, John Schneider,” he concluded.

The country singer reportedly wrote the tweet in response to message of the current president, which reads, “Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to vote, civil rights, voting rights, and America’s standing in the world. But the biggest threat it poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.”

When contacted by The Post for comment, Schneider stood by his words.

“Seriously, people? This is my last comment on this matter. I didn’t say or imply any of that. Despite the headlines claiming otherwise, in my posts I am in no way calling for acts of violence or threatening the US president as many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my actual post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.”

He continued, “It is my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nation’s leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption is rampant, both within our nation’s borders and abroad. Transparency and accountability must prevail if our constitutional republic is to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in the statement. “

The Secret Service also told The Post in a statement, “The Secret Service is aware of the comments made by Mr. Schneider, and as a practice, we do not comment on matters involving protected intelligence. However, we can say that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protection.”

Schneider has never shied away from expressing his displeasure with the president, 81, who claims to be in October tweets that he “finances Hamas’ barbaric and inhumane attacks on Israel.”

In 2018, he told Fox News that there is a “conservative, Republican, bias in Hollywood,” which he believes is the reason he is serving prison time for failing to pay alimony to his estranged ex-wife, Elvira Castle.

Schneider’s latest comments come just a day after he came in second as Donut on “The Masked Singer” to R&B singer Ne-Yo, who dressed as Cow for the show.

The actor claimed the Fox program was “really the glue that held me together for the last few months” as he was grieving his wife, Alicia, who died of breast cancer in February.

“It was one of those shows that Alicia really wanted me to do,” Schneider told People. “He always said, ‘You have to do ‘The Masked Singer.’ I really expect that one day Alicia will be there to help … so when the opportunity comes, I just have to look to the heavens and laugh because, of course, she’s still running things but further. And then, when they say, ‘We kind of like you to be a Donut.’”

He continued, “Every Saturday, Alicia would go to our local donut shop, get me a bag of apple fritters. And I would eat one, just one, but donuts have become a part of my life. For a long time, they were part of Alicia and I’s marriage and relationship. So again, they said, ‘Donuts,’ and I just had to look up at the sky and go, ‘Okay, sure. this is you It has to be you.’”
