‘A–hole’ 17-pound dog gets new owners after Texas shelter’s hilarious social post: ‘Could take on a Rottweiler and win’

Even “a–hole’s” need a place for Thanksgiving.

A young dog up for adoption in Texas found a furry home less than 8 hours after a shelter’s social media post describing the pup’s unique personality went viral.

“This is Eddie, Eddie is a hole,” the Wichita County Humane Society said on Facebook of the 1-year-old dachshund mix, along with a poop emoji. “Eddie hates other dogs, he’s 17 pounds and could take on a Rottweiler and win.”

The shelter later claimed Eddie was not from Texas and more like a guy you see walking around NYC.

“If Eddie had an accent, he’d sound like he was from the Bronx, wearing a wife beater t-shirt and MOM tattooed on his arm. If you got into a bar fight, Eddie would back you up and fight all 5 guys, put his cigarette on their foreheads and not spilled [sic] a drop of beer while doing it.”

The shelter challenges anyone brave enough to care for Eddie to do so, as he scares other dogs in the facility.

“So, if you think you are man enough to be her adopted child, please be our guest. We want Eddie out of here because he’s scaring our big dogs.”

The new information about Eddie is in stark contrast to what the shelter originally said about the dog according to an old adoption flyer posted in October.

“This Dachshund mix is Eddie! He’s about a year old, a little nervous to be at the shelter, but he’s so sweet when he’s with you!” Facebook post Oct 30 read. “He is very gentle and we can’t wait to get him to a good home.”

The incredible new marketing ploy worked, as just eight hours after the original broadcast featured Eddie, the temperamental dog he had been adopted by a family who said they had fallen in love with him.

“Very happy to say, our dog ‘a–hole’ has found his forever home! As long as they store his cigarettes and beer well and keep him away from the male dog that stalks him across the yard (although I’m pretty sure he could blow them off easily), he’ll be fine!” said the new owner.

Eddie’s Facebook page has been set up to promote adoption from shelters instead of buying pets from breeders.
