A Simplified Guide to Verizon Email Login

Verizon was an email service managed by Verizon Communications. It had all the required features that you get with a free email service. The email service was easily accessible using the webmail platform as well as client-based email software.

“At last count, it had about 4.5 million users, with about 2.5 million active users.”

Everything was going well until in 2017, Verizon announced its closure and will withdraw its email services to shift its focus to other services such as television, Internet and IPTV. Those with Verizon.net email addresses were asked to keep their Verizon email addresses alive by switching to AOL or Yahoo mail, but this is no longer possible.

Sign up for a new Verizon account

After Verizon announced it was withdrawing its services in 2017, it gave its users time to switch their email addresses from www.verizon.net to AOL or Yahoo within the deadline. Also, when it announced the AOL acquisition, it removed its email segment, and now those who want to sign up for a new Verizon mail account can sign up at mail.aol.com or yahoo.com.

Steps to sign in to Verizon.net

As you know, you can no longer create a new Verizon email account, but if you have migrated your account to AOL or Yahoo mail, you can still access your old email accounts by visiting the AOL login page or the Verizon Yahoo mail page.

  1. Enter your full Verizon email address and then tap “Next” on the Verizon email login page.
  2. Enter the password and click ‘Login’; this will allow you to access your emails.

Verizon email login only involves these two steps mentioned above, you just need to make sure you enter the correct details. Be careful with the password if it is case sensitive and caps lock should be off if not in use.

Access Verizon with third-party email clients

Even if Verizon email is managed by AOL, you can still access it through a third-party email client such as Outlook or on your Android and iPhone devices simply by entering the correct Verizon email settings.

After you’ve migrated your Verizon.net email to AOL or Yahoo mail, here are the settings you can use to set up your Verizon account in a third-party email client:

Protocol server configuration port configuration
POP 3 Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net POP3-995-SSL SMTP-465-SSL
IMAP Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net IMAP-993-SSL SMTP-465-SSL

When entering account information, please use your full email address, including @verizon.net, and also ensure that SSL encryption is enabled for incoming and outgoing mail.

Common login issues with Verizon.net

Just like any other email client, Verizon is also not free from login issues, one of the most common Verizon email problems. As you know, the old Webmail.verizon.com and Verizon.Net email web pages are no longer active, so you should visit aol.mail.com or verizon.yahoo.com.

The next important thing to consider is that you must enter your complete and correct @verizon.net email address.
