He then pointed to the comments section of the video with his comment, “Drew Barrymore we need to meet.” “Didn’t think of leaving that comment. “So obviously I emailed him right away. You didn’t respond to Drew Barrymore,” he explained. Then he read his email reply. “Oh my – Drew, wow. How amazing that the absolute REAL Drew Barrymore has a gmail account and emailed me. It’s almost unbelievable. Yes let’s meet.”
Emily then got an answer back agreeing to meet. He read the two of them back and forth via email. It continued for a few more emails and then “Drew Barrymore” asked for $250. Emily is given options to pay including Paypal, Cash App, Bitcoin. Then a different email address is given to make the payment. Emily decides to turn things around by saying she knows her worth and asks “Drew Barrymore” to send her money. The email continued, and Emily’s sense of humor shined through all the chaos.
Emily ended her video saying, “Drew, someday when I have $250 I hope we can meet.”

“This lady named Emily went viral for sharing a funny story about how I apparently emailed her, or rather someone pretending to be me emailed her and tried to scam her out of $250,” Barrymore explained. He then showed a viral TikTok video to catch everyone up to speed. “I’m so glad he turned it around, because whoever did that, like, especially on my behalf, as if I would do something like that. Barrymore then introduced Emily, who was on the phone with the producer of the segment and had no idea she was going to appear on the show. Emily was under the impression that the show called her just to “read the story.” Barrymore then gave Emily the surprise of a lifetime.
“Emily, how dare that person do that,” said Barrymore sternly. Emily replied, “I can see you for free? I don’t have to pay you $250?” That’s when Barrymore makes the story a little sweeter. “Actually Emily, I’ll pay you $250 and I’d love to fly you to New York to come here and meet us.”
