Aadhya, at the age of 9, made her debut with the Singapore film A Yellow Bird.’ (2016). In the same year, he appeared in another Singapore film Utter 2016: One Hour to Daylight.

In 2017, she made her television debut with the Singapore television show Mom’s World Season 2 where she played the role of Sushila Chandran. In the same year, she appeared in the TV show Whoopie’s World where she played the role of Dhana. after that, she has appeared in many Singaporean TV shows such as Manantu International 2 (2017), Lion Mums Season 4 (2021), and Word Whiz Slime Pit (2018).

NCPCR asks Netflix to stop streaming Bombay Begum
In 2021, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) issued a notice to Netflix to stop streaming the Aadhya Anand starrer web series Bombay Begum (2021). According to the NCPCR, the web series featured minors in possession of cocaine. The children’s rights body issued the notice after a Twitter handle reported that the web series showed minors involved in drug abuse. Sharing a screenshot from the web series, the user said,
Instead of normalizing minors having casual sex, we now have a web series showing minors having cocaine. Screenshot from Bombay Begums where a 13 year old boy sniffs coke because the party he went to was about alcohol, drugs (sic).”
In a notice issued to Netflix, the NCPCR stated,
The Commission does not allow the depiction and glorification of children in India in such a manner on any media/internet/OTT, etc. platform. Netflix should take extra precautions when streaming any content regarding or for children and should also refrain from engaging in such matters. Therefore, you are directed to look into this matter and immediately stop the streaming of this series and provide appropriate action within 24 hours, the Commission will provide detailed action within 24 hours. in accordance with the provisions of Section 14 of the CPCR (Commission for the Protection of Children’s Rights) Act, 2005.”
