Career
After completing his studies, Aashay worked with Nadira Babbar in her theater company. While working in theatre, he was going to play the lead role in the play “Jhumru Aur Jhumri” but a day before the show he received a call from Paytm’s advertising team for a Paytm ad shoot and he had to leave the play in between. After that, he did various TV commercials including commercials for Pillsbury and Maruti Swift.
In 2017, he played a small role in the Hindi web series ‘Tantra.’ He has also acted in the Hindi short film ‘Pari and Pinnochio’ (2019). In February 2019, Mishra appeared in the lead role of ‘Omkar Mishra’ in the Star Bharat TV series “Pyaar Ke Papad.” He is roped in to play the male lead in the Hindi TV series ‘Story 9 Months Ki’ opposite Sukirti Kandpal.

- Aashay had a great interest in music when he was a child. His uncle (father’s brother) enrolled him in a classical music course at Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bilaspur when he was in kindergarten. He studied classical music for 8 years and then went to a Boarding School.
- His paternal uncle, Tarun Mishra, named him “Aashay” because his uncle believed that he defined all good things for them.
- Mishra is a CA student. Once he went on vacation for a week and after he came back and attended a Tax lecture he couldn’t understand anything. Aashay calls her mother and tells her that she doesn’t want to pursue CA
- During an interview, Aashay told that he struggled for three years to get a break in Bollywood but to no avail. She gave many auditions including an audition for the Bollywood movie “The Sky is Pink” but did not get any role in the movie.
- Aashay is a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan. When he got an opportunity to recreate Shah Rukh Khan’s popular scene from the movie DDLJ for the promo of his show, he said
I am a big fan of Shahrukh Sir since childhood. I love her style, her persona, her acting skills and everything about her. No one can make love like Shah Rukh Khan in this entire world. I was very lucky that I was able to imitate his film in one of the promos of the show. So, stepping into the shoes of Raj DDLJ is very exciting for me. I would like to meet and personally learn from him once.”
