Talks of the TV personality’s departure began last summer.

The announcement shocked millions of fans and fans of the show, but according to those close to her on set, it was a long time coming.

According to reports, Seacrest often appears “tired” after taping the morning talk show, and fatigue has been a major contributor to his increased absences over the past six months.

By the way, Seacrest also serves as host of “American Idol” and its syndicated radio show, “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest,” among several other projects.

Per a Page Six report, industry sources revealed that several missed Seacrest appearances “all led to ABC chiefs quietly formalizing a deal last week for Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, to take over full-time as her co-host.”

They also revealed that only a small group of people had known about Consuelos’ plan.

“Some of Ryan’s absence created tension with everyone involved in the show,” the insider said. “But everyone cares about him and respects him and just wants to make sure he’s OK.”

He’s Long Gone!

And ABC always appreciates it,” a source revealed to DailyMail. “But Ryan is quite egotistical and he doesn’t like the fact that Mark has proved so popular when he replaces him.”

Seacrest makes $10 million a year on the show while Ripa takes home $20 million a year.

He barely missed a show in his 23 years on the show.

He concluded, “I look forward to returning to guest host in the future and Kelly, I promise to share food photos, eggs and olive oil with you forever. And congratulations to my brother Mark, please makeover my dressing room!”
