ABC has officially replaced their former “Good Morning America” hosts, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, who were fired due to scandal. Both of them were revealed to be involved in an affair which eventually ended their marriage.

‘GMA3’ Officially Replaces Amy Robach & TJ Holmes

On May 11, GMA3 revealed Morgan and Pilgrim as the new hosts of the show and the official replacements for Robach and Holmes. The chain shared a promotional photo for the patron along with the caption, “Allow us to reintroduce ourselves,” on their Instagram page. They added, “Join us in welcoming @evapilgrim and @demarcomorgan as co-anchors of #GMA3.”
The network also shared that Dr. Jennifer Ashton, who previously worked with Robach and Holmes, will join the new anchor as “chief health and medical reporter.” Morgan then re-shared the same photo to her IG page, announcing the unique position to her followers.
As a caption, he wrote, “GOOD MORNING AMERICA ‘All it takes is one step from God. Only one!’ OFFICIAL!” As Pilgrim took a moment before sharing the news with fans, Ashton excitedly shared that the network had announced a new anchor for the “Number 1 rated daytime show.”
Other Reporters Rotate Before The New Anchors

Prior to the announcement, other ABC reporters such as Phil Lipof and Gio Benitez took turns anchoring the show due to vacancies. Although Robach and Holmes previously worked together in the post, they said goodbye to “GMA3” in December 2022.
The network dropped them in the wake of their cheating scandal. At the time, another employee received an email from Kim Godwin, president of ABC, calling the two of them “distractions.”
ABC also confirmed their departure in a public statement. It reads, per Page Six, “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes about different options, we all agreed that it was best for everyone that they move on from ABC News.” However, they thanked the former anchor for their time at the network. Despite the new replacement, Benitez will present the show’s weekend broadcasts.
Scandal Ends Their Second Marriage

When news of the affair broke, Holmes filed for divorce from his wife Marilee Fiebig, with whom he shares their 10-year-old daughter. This marks Holmes’ second divorce, as he previously split from Amy Ferson, with whom he shares two children.
Robach, on the other hand, wants to keep the status of her marriage to Andrew Shue out of the public eye. However, they agreed to separate and remain friends to co-parent their children. Their divorce was finalized in March 2023.
US Weekly wrote, “She’s still in her stepkids’ lives and trying to make amends with her kids and her ex.” The couple, who married in 2010, are stepparents to their children; Robach shares two daughters with her ex-husband, and Shue shares three sons with her ex-wife.

Several reports claim that the lovebirds have pitched their idea to networks as wide as CBS and CNN, with their on- and off-screen chemistry being their selling point.
Unfortunately, the pair were allegedly rejected by the network they approached and are still looking for a home for their show.
