Singer Leo was born on 31 July 1991 (age 32; in 2023) in Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh, India. From his paternal grandfather, he inherited an interest in Hindustani classical music; and gave his first stage performance at the age of 5.

In her school days, she used to listen to music a lot and when she heard the song “Mitwa” from the movie Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), she was so impressed that she sang it on all occasions, and all competitions.

Although he was supposed to be an engineer, his passion for music took him to the KM AR Rahman Conservatory of Music in Chennai; which he considered the best decision of his life.

Career
Since his childhood, Abhay has had an unwavering devotion to music. However, he never let that get in the way of his studies. He did his schooling from Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh. He went to Chennai to pursue his B.Tech in Biotechnology from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. During his second year of college, he realized that he was not cut out for such a profession. He, then, started attending part-time music classes at ‘KM Music Conservatory in Chennai; as a part-timer. At the academy, he was part of a qawwali group that used to perform at private events. At that time, AR Rahman was hunting for a new voice for a song in the Telugu film Kadal (2013). When Rahman saw her singing a qawwali, he asked her for a voice test. In just a few days, Rahman gave him his big break with the duet song “Moongil Thottam,” with Harini. The song became a big hit and opened up other opportunities for him.
