Controversy
In 2019, Pathak was blamed for copying some scenes from the film Bala in his film Ujda Chaman. He received a legal notice from Bala film team after which in an interview, he told that he released the trailer of Udja Chaman film before Bala film. He claimed that if the trailer was released earlier, the change should have been done in Bala’s film instead of Ujda Chaman’s film. Later, Pathak sent a notice to Maddock Films when the film was announced. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
We are discussing with my team now. We sent them a notice when we bought the rights, early 2019 because their announcement came at the same time. I gave them all the documents because their movies sounded similar. They said except for the bald character, there was nothing like it and I bought their words. But now that doesn’t seem to be the case. The dialogues, the situations, everything seems similar and even people have understood it.”
