Access Roadrunner Email Using POP, SMTP, and IMAP Settings

Roadrunner launched long ago as Time Warner Cable, but is currently operated by Charter Communications, which is branded as Spectrum. Setting up and logging into a Roadrunner email account is fairly easy, but only if you’ve entered the correct email settings. Also, if you are going to set up Roadrunner email in Outlook or any other third-party email client, you cannot skip this setup which is provided later in this guide; otherwise you will have login problems with Roadrunner.

Roadrunner POP3 Settings

Here’s how to set up a Roadrunner email account with POP3 settings:

1. Go to the ‘Settings’ section and click ‘Add Account’.

2. In the fields provided, enter the required information and once the information is verified, you will need to enter the TWC mail servers information.

3. For Incoming Server, select POP3 and fill in the following information:

  • Hostname: pop-server.dc.rr.com
  • Username: Roadrunner’s full email address
  • Password: Roadrunner Password

Click ‘Submit’

4. For Outgoing Server, select SMTP and enter the following information:

  • Hostname: mobile-SMTP.roadrunner.com
  • Username: Roadrunner’s full email address
  • Password: Roadrunner Password

5. After that, select SMTP.roadrunner.com on the main server.

6. You will be directed to a new page where you will need to fill in the following information:

Click ‘Done’ and then go to the Advanced Settings page and enter the following information:

  • SSL: None
  • Server port: pop-server.dc.rr.com
  • And click ‘Done’

This is how you can set up your Roadrunner email account using the IMAP settings

1. Log in to your Roadrunner email account in the third-party email client as usual.

2. Now, select the option of manual configuration instead of automatic configuration.

3. Now select IMAP settings and enter the following information to set up the account:

  • Account type: IMAP
  • Incoming server: twc.com
  • Incoming mail server port: 143
  • Security type: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing server: twc.com
  • Port of departure: 587
  • Security type: none,
  • insecure port: none

4. Also, enter your Roadrunner email address and password to complete setup.

5. Do not select the option of secure server and verified certificate.

6. This will complete the SMTP authentication process and you should then re-enter your Roadrunner email address and password and click ‘Next’.

7. Enter your screen name and finally click ‘Done’.

Roadrunner SMTP Settings

For the outgoing server, these are the Spectrum Roadrunner email settings to apply:

  • Outgoing mail server account type: SMTP
  • Outgoing Email Server Username: Your full Roadrunner email address
  • Outgoing Email Server Password: Your Roadrunner email password
  • Outgoing email server host name: mail.twc.com
  • Outgoing email server port: 587
  • Outgoing mail server TLS/SSL required: YES
  • Authentication required: YES
