Darius McCrary sought a restraining order from his ex-girlfriend after she threatened to take his beloved dog.

The actor, best known for his role as Eddie Winslow in the 90s sitcom Family matters filed a request for a protective order from his ex-girlfriend initially in August 2022. She claims he broke her car window and tried to physically assault her with a lead pipe.
A temporary restraining order was not granted because McCrary did not appear in court on the day of the hearing, she later claimed that she “was moved at the time, and had to run away from my ex.” In new court documents, obtained by The Blast, Darius claims that he is “emotionally traumatized, and cannot focus on work or the day to day because of fear.”
The actress also shared that she was not in her own home “because of the abuse, (physical, verbal, mental) from my ex.” The accusations got wilder when Darius claimed drugs were involved.

The Get lost The actor also shared in the court document that, “he turned our home then into a drug den, he agreed to leave the country for rehab. He has returned and is now calling and sending threats. He has taken my property and put it in storage and refuses to return it . He continued to commit mental abuse.”
Darius shared that the last straw for him was in mid-December when “he threatened to have his friends come and take my dog and if I didn’t pay him,” adding, “he had the keys to my vehicle.” Darius is more concerned now, stating:
“I’m afraid he will cause more damage. He continued to call me a punk (and other names we chose not to list) and slandered my name in several entertainment industry professional circles.”

Darius also claims that his ex is holding onto his valuables. “He won’t return my personal belongings and is trying to blackmail me.” She went so far as to claim he “terrorized” her.
Darius is now appealing to a California judge, worried he might “end up like Phil Hartman,” the infamous Saturday Night Live comedian who was shot by his wife in their home then he later turned the gun on himself.
Darius is also seeking a gag order because he fears his ex is defaming him at work, in the industry and on social media. The actor’s hearing is set for later this month where he will ask a judge to turn his body temperature restriction order into a permanent protective order against his ex.
