Adhik Ravichandran is an Indian film director, writer, and actor who works mostly in Tamil cinema. He is best known for directing the Tamil-language blockbuster Mark Antony (2023).

Director and Writer
In 2015, Adhik Ravichandran made his directorial debut with the Tamil romantic comedy Trisha Illana Nayantara. He is also the writer of the film. The film later did well at the box office and was later dubbed into Telugu. In 2017, he directed and wrote the Tamil language action comedy film Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan also known as AAA. The film failed at the box office and received mostly negative reviews from critics. In 2023, he directed and wrote his third Tamil-language film, Bagheera which released on 3 March 2023. The film ended up being a flop and received mostly poor reviews from the audience. On 14 September 2023, another Tamil language sci-fi action comedy film titled ‘Mark Antony’ directed by Adhik Ravichandran was released in theatres. It soon became a box office hit, earning over Rs. 100 crores.

In 2019, Adhik Ravichandran made his acting debut with a cameo appearance in the K-13 Tamil psychological mystery film in the role of Vijay. In August 2019, he played the role of Vishwa in the Tamil-language legal drama film Nerkonda Paarvai. The film is a remake of the famous Bollywood film, Pink, which had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. In 2022, he appeared in the Tamil language psychological action thriller Cobra.

- Adhik’s mother did not want him to pursue a career in the film industry because his father could not make his debut as a director despite working as an assistant director for almost 2 decades. Therefore, Adhik chose to major in engineering over his dream subject of visual communication to please his mother.
- He trained under Major AK Raveendran, who was an actor and director who worked mostly in Malayalam cinema, as an assistant director.
- In 2017, Adhik Ravichandran publicly criticized Silambarasan, a Kollywood actor, for showing arrogance on the sets of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan. He blamed Silambarasan for the film’s failure and accused him of creatively interfering and creating issues while production was underway as Silambarasan wanted to cut the film into two parts and stop shooting. In an interview, when talking about Silambarasan’s behavior, he said,
When I realized the situation was getting out of control, I wanted to stop the shooting. I told the producer that making part 1 and part 2 for the film would be a problem. But the producer spoke to him and said that things would be resolved. Even my reputation has taken a hit.”

In fact, this theater tour is not one of the usual theater tours where film teams do theater hopping to gauge audience response. Since my movie actually got good reviews, I stopped by this theater to buy tickets for my friends. I just want to share this moment with them.”
