Shoe brand giant Adidas has finally cut ties with controversial rapper Kanye West following a long string of anti-Semitic comments by the rapper and the recent anti-Semitic protests it has fueled.
Adidas has been under huge pressure to drop Ye because of what many have condemned as hate speech. Big brands like Balenciaga and Vogue have dropped the artist, along with his longtime talent agency, CAA. The Kardashian family also recently condemned his hate speech in a short message of support for Jews.
Ye’s recent controversial behavior began during Paris Fashion Week when he was called out for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at his fashion show. Since then, it’s been a downward spiral from one controversial act to another.

Adidas ended up cutting ties with Ye shortly after a clip of him saying the shoe brand couldn’t do anything to him no matter what he said went viral.

They also stated that they are severing all ties with the rapper, stopping production of all their Yeezy branded products, and will also stop all payments to the rapper involved and his company.
Adidas joins other fashion giants such as Balenciaga, Vogue, and Gap, who have publicly condemned Ye and distanced themselves from the rapper.

Ye went Viral again after stating that Adidas can’t drop him no matter what kind of anti-semitic comments he makes.
In the viral clip, the rapper said, “The thing about it, me and Adidas, is like, I can really say anti-semitic, and they can’t bring me down. I can say anti-semitic things, and Adidas can’t take me down,” the rapper said, adding “now what? How now?”
Following this, pressure on the sportswear brand to cut ties with Ye increased, with many threatening to boycott them entirely if they chose to remain silent.

Over the weekend, anti-semitic groups were spotted on a Los Angeles freeway with banners boldly declaring that “Kanye is right about the Jews” while giving the famous Nazi salute. The same group reportedly shared several pamphlets with highly anti-Jewish conspiracy theories. The rapper has been condemned as being behind a string of recent anti-Jewish protests.
The Kardashian Family Speak Out Against Kanye West

Members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan recently slammed the rapper’s hate speech online. Just like Adidas, some have called out the family for failing to speak out about Ye’s antisemitism. In various social media posts, the reality star made their stance clear by showing support for the Jewish people.
Khloe Kardashian was the first to speak out by sharing a post of support for the Jewish community, which read, “I support my Jewish friends and Jewish people.” Her other sister also followed suit by sharing the same message, which was created by American author Jessica Seinfeld.

Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, took a more personal approach and made a statement directly condemning the rapper’s hate speech. Kim shared a message on her Instagram story saying that “hate speech” is unacceptable.
The message by the business mogul read, “Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand with the Jewish community and call for the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric against them to stop immediately.” Kim’s message came shortly after she was seen having a three-hour dinner with Ivanka Trump, where they reportedly discussed her ex’s controversial behavior.
Kanye West’s Friend Voices Concern About Rapper

Following his anti-semitic behavior and recent close friendship with Youtuber and conspiracy theorist Candace Owens, some of Ye’s friends have expressed great concern for the rapper.
According to TMZ, Owens has become a very close confidante of the embattled rapper and has been advising him on what steps to take. Ye’s friends are reportedly worried that he could negatively affect her life.
The school’s owner, Ye, recently made an appearance at Owens’ red carpet premiere for his docuseries “BLM.” She also reportedly bought Parler, the social media app owned by Owens’ husband, George Framer.
Ye has made it clear that he has no plans to apologize for his anti-semitic remarks and only doubles down on them when called out.
