Adidas has finalized — and announced — its plans to clean up its Yeezy products after months of debate.
The German sportswear company has announced its intention to sell the remaining Yeezy products left in its warehouse following the collapse of its partnership with Kanye West last year and donate the proceeds to an antisemitism charity. The fashion giant ended its long-running – and highly lucrative – alliance with the rapper in October 2022 following his increasingly controversial racist and antisemitic remarks, making the partnership untenable.
Proceeds from the sale of Kanye West’s leftover Yeezys to be made to the George Floyd Family NGO
Adidas announced on Friday, May 19, that it will be putting its remaining Yeezy stock up for sale, with original releases beginning later this month. The outfit added that it would donate a “substantial amount” from selling the $1.2 billion worth of Yeezys to two prominent non-profit organizations fighting racism and antisemitism.
The group is the Anti-Defamation League and a non-profit founded and run by George Floyd’s brother called the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change, representing those most affected by Ye’s words.

While the former highlights those affected by the “Jesus Walks” hitmaker’s history of language and antisemitic beliefs, the latter highlights those hurt by his insistence that George’s death was caused by fentanyl, not drowning at the hands of a police officer.
Although he apologized to George’s family in a rare show of defeat, some people still haven’t forgiven or forgotten his remarks. This explains why Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden previously told shareholders that unloading the leftover Yeezys and donating “money to organizations that helped us and were harmed by what Ye said” was the way forward. In his words, per Reuters:
“We believe this is the best solution because it respects the designs created and the shoes produced, it works for our staff, solves the inventory problem and will have a positive impact in our community. There is no place in sport or society for hatred of any kind, and we remain committed to fighting it.”
The upcoming release of some of these products will be the first time Adidas will sell Yeezys to customers since the dissolution of the partnership with Ye. With this announcement, fans can confirm that the German brand will not be making any new deals with the father of four.
Since the athletic apparel corporation owns all of the Grammy award-winning artist’s designs, it can do as it pleases, including creating new products without its name. While it’s still unclear if they’ll eventually go that route, The Blast noted that Ye supported Adidas using his design without his permission earlier this year.
Ye Appreciate God For Being ‘Humbled’ Enough To Apologize To The Floyds

Regarding his apology to George’s family, school owner Donda took advantage of the interview session to address the racist comments he made regarding the former’s death.
The Blast shared that the 45-year-old has expressed regret for questioning the authenticity of the details surrounding the late African American’s death in May 2020, claiming that he now understands how the deceased felt to have a knee on his neck. Responding to a viral clip showing a police officer pinning George with his knee, Ye stated:
“When I saw that video as a black person, it hurt my feelings. And I know that the police do attack, and that America in general is racist. And I understand that when we have to say Black Lives Matter, the idea of that makes us feel good together as one people, right? So when I question the death of George Floyd, it hurts my people. I would like to apologize.”
The “Flashing Lights” rapper also explained that he now knows “what it’s like to have a knee on my neck right now,” thanks to God, the media, and Adidas.
“So thank you, God, for humbling me and telling me what it’s like. Because how can the richest black man be degraded other than made out of being a billionaire in front of everyone with just one comment,” said the “We Were Once a Fairytale” cameo star.
