Controversy
The case was filed by Rakhi Sawant
On 6 February 2023, Rakhi Sawant, Adil’s wife, filed an FIR against him at the Oshiwara police station, accusing him of mishandling funds while he was inside the Bigg Boss Marathi house. He also alleged that Durrani failed to take care of his ailing mother Jaya Sawant, who died on January 29 after a long battle with cancer. Holding him responsible for his mother’s death, Rakhi revealed in an interview that Adil did not pay money on time for his mother’s surgery. He even accused Adil of having an extramarital affair with a girl named Tanu Chandel. Following his FIR, Adil was arrested by the Oshiwara Police. Later, several sources revealed that Adil was not arrested and was called by the Oshiwara Police for questioning. After that, the two were spotted at an eatery in Mumbai, feeding each other.
Iranian student rape case
On 13 February 2023, an Iranian student filed an FIR against Adil Durrani at Mysuru’s VV Puram police station, accusing him of raping her. She also accused him of cheating, threatening, and blackmailing her. According to the victim, Adil raped her after promising to marry her. Police have arrested him under IPC Sections 406, 420 498 (A), and 377.
