Aditya Rawal is an Indian actor, screenwriter, author and director. He is the son of actors Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat. He rose to fame for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s action film Bamfaad opposite Shalini Pandey in 2020. Aditya was last seen in Sidharth Sengupta’s Disney+ web series Hotstar Aar Ya Paar, also starring Patralekhaa, Sumeet Vyas and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.

Birth & Early Life

Aditya Rawal was born on 28 September 1993 to Mr. Paresh Rawal and Mrs. Swaroop Sampat in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He received his primary and secondary schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School based in Mumbai. Aditya later went to HR College of Commerce and Economics where he completed his studies. Aditya also holds a degree in Devised Theater from the London International School of Performing Arts and later, graduated in the MFA Program in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, London.

Career

Aditya Rawal was born and brought up in a family of artists, both his parents are prolific Bollywood actors. In 2016 after his graduation, Aditya wrote a historical play titled, The Queen for which he received the Best Original Screenplay prize at the New York Innovative Theater Awards. After that, he wrote several scripts for Indian and Hollywood directors.

Aditya gained recognition for co-writing the epic war drama film Panipat with Ashutosh Gowariker. It depicts the events that took place during the Third Battle of Panipat.

In 2012, Aditya started his acting career with the sports comedy drama film Ferrari Ki Sawaari. He then made his digital debut in 2020 with the romantic action film Bamfaad in the lead role opposite Shalini Pandey. The film depicts a passionate love story in Allahabad between Nasir Jamal and Neelam who meet by chance and fall in love with each other.

The actor plays the lead role in Hotstar’s Disney+ series, Aar Ya Paar, as a tribal man who has to fight for the survival of his people.
