The director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) blasted MSNBC – during his appearance on the left-leaning broadcaster – for referring to Hamas terrorists as “fighters” and trying to rationalize a surprise attack on Israel that killed more than 800 people. weekend.
Speaking to the network Monday morning, Jonathan Greenblatt said he took issue with coverage of Saturday’s massacre in Israel and the violent aftermath, claiming MSNBC and other media organizations did not fairly portray the plight of his country.
“I am angry at the world for allowing the dehumanization of Israel and the sanitization of Hamas,” Greenblatt said. “I love the show and the network, but who writes the script?
“The people who did this are not fighters, they are not militants… They are terrorists,” he added. “It is a barbarian who rapes and mistreats women, who kills children in front of their parents and then takes them to Gaza.”

Greenblatt said the videos and images of Saturday’s violence proved that the Jewish State was plagued with horrific atrocities by extremists, likening it to the September 11 terrorist attacks and the World War II atomic bombing of Nagasaki, Japan.
In light of the heinous acts committed by Hamas, Greenblatt asserted that it would be inappropriate for MSNBC and others to describe it as yet another act of violence between Israel and Palestine.
“People who say, ‘This is an escalation, it’s bound to happen,’ I’m sorry, this is a premeditated genocide,” he said. “This was not destined to happen.”

The ALD director also criticized news organizations for their coverage of the Israeli counterattack, which followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow of revenge.
“Please stop calling this retaliation,” Greenblatt said. “This is a defensive move against an organization committed to one thing: killing Jews.”
Gaza health officials reported that at least 300 Palestinians had been killed in the retaliatory attacks, including civilians, with another 2,200 injured.

With violence in Gaza continuing as Israel wages war on terror groups, Greenblatt urged the media to focus on the voices of victims in the Jewish State,
“Please talk to the Israeli mothers and fathers who lost their children, Talk to the grandchildren whose grandparents were taken as hostages,” he said. “Guys, get the story straight.”
On Saturday, the ADL called on the world to support Israel in its defense and counterattack against Hamas, whose members also killed at least nine Americans over the weekend and kidnapped more than 100 people.

“Israel has the indisputable right to defend itself against the Iranian-backed terrorist organization Hamas,” the group said in a statement. “Missiles targeting Israeli cities and terrorists infiltrating villages are nothing less than war crimes because they target civilians.
“We call on responsible members of the international community to take concrete action in support of Israel and against those who support Palestinian terrorists.”
