An airport worker was fired after an angry passenger returning to Cyprus from the UK found obscene messages written on her 7-month-old son’s suitcase.
Mario Lucas expressed his frustration after complaining to Ryanair about a message that read “c—- stop late check-in” on the front of his son’s suitcase, reports The Sun.
After visiting family in the UK, the Lucas family checked in for their flight to Paphos, located in the western part of the country, just 90 minutes before boarding.
But upon returning to Cyprus, Lucas saw a horrifying message on his son’s blue Revelation brand suitcase while waiting at baggage claim.
“When we arrived in Cyprus, we were in the baggage claim process and I saw my son’s suitcase on the belt,” said Lucas. “My wife, Serena, noticed the writing right away.”
Lucas immediately took the matter to Ryanair to file a report, telling the Irish-based airline that what happened to his son was “outrageous” and that he demanded another suitcase.
“I’m angry because it’s a new suitcase we bought in September,” continued the distraught father.

After speaking with Ryanair, the airline’s contractor issued a statement condemning the act, saying it was “unacceptable” and that they had a “zero tolerance policy for offensive behaviour.”
“This unacceptable incident was reported by our own team that day, immediately investigated, and following conclusive evidence, the individual involved was terminated,” said the contractor, ABM Blue Handling.
“Mr. Lucas was contacted by the airport and an apology was extended. We have a zero tolerance policy for offensive behavior, and we would like to extend our sincere apologies to Mr. Lucas,” ABM Blue Handling continued.

Lucas was taken aback by the sign as the Ryanair employee did not confront him throughout his check-in.
The father claims an employee at the desk said, “Everything is fine.”
“It’s not the recommended two hours, but I definitely check in later. We had no problem at check-in,” said Lucas.
