Aishwarya Pissay is an Indian professional motorcycle racer who competes in road racing, dirt track racing and cross-country rallying. In 2019, she became the first Indian motorsport athlete to win a world title in motorsport when she finished first at the FIM Bajas World Cup in the women’s category in Varpalota, Hungary.

Aishwarya Pissay was born on Monday, August 14, 1995 (age 27 years; in 2022) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. His zodiac sign is Leo. He attended Mahila Seva Samaja Senior High School, Bengaluru. Aishwarya first realized her passion for cycling at the age of 18. He was thrown out of the house by his father for failing in Class XII and later he started cycling with his friends. In an interview, while talking about the same he said,

I failed in Class XII and my father kicked me out of the house. I went to live with my mother. It gives me time to do part-time work and study; I also started riding a bike at this time. Soon, I started going on weekend bike trips with friends.”

He pursued his BA in psychology at Surana College in Bengaluru. In 2015, he started training at the Apex Racing Academy in Coimbatore and decided to pursue a career in professional racing and cycling. At first, his family did not support his decision to become a motorcycle racer. Recalling his family’s reaction to his early career choice, he says,

Coming from a conservative family with no racing background, it wasn’t the easiest career choice. My grandfather had expected me to work regularly and so had my father, who said that I would never make anything in my life. My mother, who allowed me to discover myself and allowed me to follow my passion.”

Career

Motor sports

In 2017, TVS Racing signed Aishwarya Pissay as a factory rider. In the same year, she participated in several competitions including Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), Raid De Himalaya, Dakshin Dare, TVS Apache Ladies One Make Championship, etc. In 2018, she became the first Indian woman to participate in the Baja Aragón rally raid in Teruel, Spain. The event also marked his international rally debut. At the rally, he was part of a four-man squad consisting of brothers Adrien Metge and Michael Metge from France and Lorenzo Santolino from Spain. The rally ended early for Aishwarya as she crashed and suffered a ruptured pancreas in the process. In 2018, she was the only female rider to participate in the “Xtreme” racing category. In 2019, he created history in Indian motorsport with his win at the FIM World Cup. During the championship, Pissay won the first round in Dubai, took third in Portugal, fifth in Spain, and fourth in Baja Hungary, between August 9 and 11. He finished with 65 points, just four points ahead of Portugal. Rita Vieira in the final overall standings for women. Based on the total points earned from the four rounds, Aishwarya won the World Cup in the women’s category. He also finished second with 46 points, behind championship winner Tomas de Gavardo (60 points) from Chile, in the junior category where both men and women compete. In 2022, at Baja Aragon, the fourth round of the FIM Bajas World Cup, Pissay was part of the Sherco TVS Rally Factory team consisting of four riders, Lorenzo Santolino, Rui Gonçalves, Harith Noah and Pissay.

Television

In 2014, Aishwarya made her first appearance on TV when she participated in MTV’s ‘Chase the Monsoon’ – an 8000km journey from the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat to Cherrapunji in Meghalaya in 24 days. In 2022, she appeared as a contestant in the reality game show Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 on Colors Kannada. He was the first contestant to be evicted from the house on the show.
