Akash Singh is a young Indian cricketer who hails from Rajasthan. He was a member of the Indian U-19 cricket team that lost to Bangladesh in the final of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. The left-arm medium-pace bowler is known for his lethal bowlers.

Akash Singh was born on Friday, 26 April 2002 (age 19 years; in 2021) in Nagla Ram Ratan village, located in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. His full name is Akash Maharaj Singh. His zodiac sign is Taurus. Akash developed an interest in cricket in early childhood. He started playing cricket professionally in 2012 after enrolling himself in Shardul Sports School in Bikaner. In 2014, he moved to Jaipur to receive cricket coaching from Vivek Yadav, a coach at the city’s Aravali Cricket Club.
Growing up, he used to spend most of his time playing cricket. His passion for the sport was so high that he could not balance between cricket and academics. As a result, he failed the class 10 board exam four times in a row. The red line on his report card did not hinder his future as he passed the cricket test with flying colours.

Akash Singh’s father is a farmer, while his mother is a housewife. Akash has two younger sisters, and a brother named Lakhan, who has played cricket up to the district level. Lakhan often took Akash with him to his cricket matches and was the one who exposed Akash to the sport.
Career
Akash came into limelight at the age of 15 in November 2017, after he ran through the entire opposition taking all 10 wickets in four overs in an open T20 match held in Jaipur. The most amazing part of that performance was that he did not concede a single run in his bowling.
One of the highlights of his career was in December 2019 when he was named in India’s squad for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. He finished the tournament with seven wickets in six matches at an abysmal economy of 3.81, which was remarkable. performances against Bangladesh, Kuwait and Australia (3/30 in the quarter-finals).
Considering his previous performances, Rajasthan Royals bought him at his base price of Rs. 20 lakh in the player auction ahead of IPL 2020. However, the speedster could not play any matches in the tournament.
Controversy
Immediately after India lost the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in the final to Bangladesh, several players from both teams were involved in a nasty brawl on the field. Akash Singh, along with Ravi Bishnoi and three other Bangladeshi players, were found guilty of the brawl. He was charged with violating Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct. As a result, he was sanctioned with eight suspension points, which is equivalent to six demerit points. Demerit points remain for the next two years.

Akash is very concerned about his health and fitness. During an interview in 2019, he revealed that he never takes junk food.
