After defending Kanye West and his Hitler comments, Akon is defending another star, and this time Nick Cannon. The only gripe Cannon gets is his tendency to spread his seed far and wide and make lots of babies, something the “Smack That” singer is more than happy to leave behind.
So here’s what Akon had to say about Cannon when Zeze Millz asked him about responsibility and parenting…
Akon Has NINE Children, Nick Cannon Has 12

Now, when it comes to Nick Cannon, he has 11 kids with a 12th on the way. He began his fatherhood journey with twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; before having sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon with daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. He also gave birth to twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; and followed by two more baby mamas, Legendary Love’s son with Bre Tiesi; and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
Finally, Cannon is also father to son Zen with Alyssa Scott who sadly passed away at the age of five months in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. And now Scott is expecting another boy from Cannon, due in 2023.
Clearly, Cannon takes “go and breed” quite seriously. Meanwhile, Akon is also not a shy dad with nine kids and counting, given that he once admitted that he practices polygamy and has multiple wives and/or partners and that all the women in his life are fine.

In a YouTube interview, Millz wondered if Akon agreed with Nick Cannon’s immense love of parenting to the point of 12 kids and multiple baby mamas and was quite surprised that Akon felt he was not just 100% with Cannon, but 1000%!
Millz tried to voice his opinion by saying that having multiple children with different women is not responsible but Akon backed him up, calling Cannon the “most responsible” man. Akon further explains that Cannon is rich and he lives 100% behind BM (baby mama) who also lives comfortably and has no complaints.
When Millz wonders if Cannon isn’t there for the kids, when the time comes, and the missing things like readings are fair, Akon just brushes it off as a “white man thing!” Says the “Lonely” singer, “who gives af–k about reading” before giving an example as a father of nine to show it all works.
For Akon, being a father is about providing for the family, and also teaching them basic values and moral values are what a father is supposed to do, which he and Cannon do. Besides, she feels that ultimately, this is a decision between the man and his BM, and the kids, of course.
Here’s Akon’s take on Cannon:
Akon has also previously stated that he believes polygamy comes naturally to men, meaning they can’t help it — literally. Said the Senegalese rapper, “At the end of the day as men, we are natural breeders by nature. We can’t escape if we want to.”
Meanwhile, his 26-year-old wife does not fully agree with the man, although she “respects” him and his work. Scroll down to learn more.
Akon’s wife feels a little sensitivity is needed

Akon’s wife is Tomeka Thiam, and she has a lot to say on Instagram, including the fact that being the head of the Akon family isn’t easy. Tomeka said, “I am Kon’s wife. 26 Years of Marriage. My heart goes out to Nick and his Big Family. I fully support a man who wants kids and wants to be there for his kids as much as possible. I think he did an amazing job under the circumstances. May God continue to guide him and his family. Talking about the Kon family because I am the head of it, It is NOT easy.”
He went on to say that as a family, they all respect Akon’s hard work, but raising children, especially when Akon “can’t or chooses not to be there” is no easy task. He also felt that Akon should understand the interviewer’s point of view and that they should be thankful that their kids turned out great!
She wrote in her latest IG post, “Our kids are very responsible, loving, great people despite the hardships and some missed moments. It takes a Village without her when she can’t or chooses not to be there. Love and a father’s attention in every area of a child’s life is still really needed so we should all support that need no matter what. Our kids need it too and are affected by not having it at all times so I hope my husband will understand the interviewer’s point of view too. Be gentle on this issue. More compassionate.”
