The 68-year-old’s “Today” co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb welcomed him to the studio with excitement and warm greetings in a video shared on their Twitter pages.
The clip, accompanied by a note that read, “Al is back with us this morning! ?☀️,” saw Guthrie joking about his “new knee”. He couldn’t help but ask if it still had that “new knee smell.”

Dressed in a stylish light brown suit, Roker playfully replied, “I don’t want to go there,” with a smile. He assured everyone that his new knee is doing him good, saying, “We’re using it. Everything is good, everything is good.”
Kotb joined in, expressing his delight at having the “Another World” guest star back, saying, “We’re so glad you’re back, Al.” During her stint as a co-host on the “Third Hour” segment, she opened up about her recent surgery, explain:
“It’s a more involved operation because they take the knee out and put the knee in and a few other things. But that said, it’s coming along well.”

She also emphasized the “overwhelming, exhausting, and terrifying” nature of being a caregiver. Looking back on her role, the 62-year-old expressed hope that she would never face such a challenge again. Roberts stated to ET:
“But it’s hard. It’s hard. I’m still somewhat, I think, recovered. I’m still a little tired. I’m still mentally exhausted, but you know what, I’m grateful and just trying to bask in the moment and just be happy that he’s healthy, and we’re all healthy.”
