Alan Davies is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer from England. Since 1997, he has played the lead role in the BBC mystery drama series Jonathan Creek. Additionally, since 2003, he has been the sole permanent panelist on the BBC’s QI panel programme, overtaking his colleagues Stephen Fry (2003-16) and Sandi Toksvig (2016-present), who took over after Fry’s departure.
