Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin are reportedly depressed after the actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter last Friday.
This is the second time the 65-year-old actor has faced charges related to the fatal shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. In January 2023, both actress and “30 Rock” shield Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed now also faces an additional charge of tampering with evidence after prosecutors said they found a witness to testify that she transferred cocaine to another individual on the day Hutchins was killed, interfering with the police investigation. His trial, originally scheduled for December 2023, is scheduled to begin in February 2024.

Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their first child in 2013. The youngest of their seven children is their daughter Ilaria, who was born in September 2022. Although the “Supercell” actor is looking forward to growing his large family , it looks like he may have to spend some time away from his family if the case actually goes to trial.
Over the weekend, a source told People magazine that the couple found the new charges “frustrating” as they try to start the new year and found the renewed charges “very stressful” as they try to educate their seven children.
“They had a great Christmas and New Year. Hilaria is also just 40 years old. This is not the way they want to start the new year,” the source told the publication.
“It puts pressure on Hilaria. It disappointed them both because Alec was recharging. They know there is a possibility that there will be new allegations,” they added. “Back and forth is difficult. It was very stressful.”
Alec Baldwin Has Insisted That He Never Pulled the Trigger

Baldwin was filming “Rust” in New Mexico in October 2021. While rehearsing a scene in a church, the gun he was holding went off, striking and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and hospitalized director Joel Souza.
Baldwin has insisted that he never pulled the trigger and that he “doesn’t know” how the bullet ended up in the prop gun on the movie set.
On Friday, Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter (negligent use of a firearm) or alternatively, with involuntary manslaughter (without care or caution), months after his initial involuntary manslaughter charge was dropped without prejudice in April 2023 .
Under New Mexico law, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted. Baldwin’s attorneys, Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas of Quinn Emanuel, said in a statement Friday that they “look forward to our day in court.”
Halyna Hutchins’ Family Continues ‘Searching for the Truth’

Halyna Hutchins’ mother, father and sister have filed a civil suit against Alec Baldwin and other “Rust” producers, alleging that their negligence on set caused Halyna’s death.
An attorney for the family, Gloria Allred, released a statement Friday saying the Hutchins family “is always searching for the truth about what happened the day Halyna Hutchins was tragically shot and killed.”
“They continue to seek justice in our civil claims for them and they also want accountability in the criminal justice system,” he continued.
“The grand jury has determined that there is sufficient evidence to indict Alec Baldwin on a charge of involuntary manslaughter,” Allred added. “We look forward to the criminal trial that will determine whether he should be convicted for Halyna’s untimely death.”
What Training Did Alec Baldwin Receive?

In a probable cause statement filed in First Judicial District Court in New Mexico, Baldwin is accused of not receiving required firearms training. Prosecutors also claimed that he never asked Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s shield to show him that the gun did not contain live ammunition.
Court documents also allege that Baldwin placed his finger “on the trigger of a real firearm when a replica or rubber gun should have been used.”
“Rust” special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason J. Lewis initially dropped the charges against Baldwin without prejudice in April 2023 to continue testing the firearm used in the shooting.
In August 2023, a forensic report written by expert Lucien C. Haag concluded that the prop gun’s trigger had to be pulled “enough” to fire.
However, according to The New York Times, “parts of the gun” were “damaged by the FBI during its own analysis.”
