Actor Alec Baldwin is reportedly worried he will have to face criminal charges for filming “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.
The 65-year-old actor was holding a prop Colt revolver for the scene when it exploded, killing Hutchins and hospital director Joel Souza. “Rust” shield Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after a live bullet was found in a gun the “30 Rock” actress was holding.
In June 2023, he was charged with tampering with evidence after prosecutors alleged that he gave a bag of cocaine to another individual on the day Hutchins died, hindering the police investigation into his death. His trial has been postponed to early 2024.
Baldwin had also been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, but those charges were dropped without prejudice in April, meaning charges could be refiled at any time. In early June, the special prosecutor stated that they would decide whether or not to prosecute within sixty days. However, those sixty days are almost up, meaning Baldwin could be charged again any time now.

Sources tell the National Inquirer that Alec Baldwin fears he will face new criminal charges following a new report conducted by gun experts in New Mexico to help the prosecution in their case against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
“Although Alec Baldwin has repeatedly denied pulling the trigger, given the tests, findings and observations reported here, the trigger had to be pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted evidence revolver’s hammer,” the report said.
“He lost! He’s worried he could end up in jail,” the insider claimed, as per Radar Online. The actor, who recently welcomed his eighth child with wife Hilaria Baldwin last September, is worried about missing out on more family milestones after celebrating his first child’s tenth birthday last week.
Although Baldwin has often denied firing the gun and pulling the trigger, attorney Pete Gleason, who is also a former NYPD detective told the National Enquirer that the gun “didn’t fire itself.”

Last week, the “Supercell” actor also failed in his bid to win a civil suit filed by three former “Rust” employees who were fired.
Last Wednesday, Deadline was the first to report that New Mexico First Judicial District Court Judge Bryan Biedscheid denied a motion filed by Alec Baldwin and co-defendants El Dorado Pictures and Rust Movie Productions to dismiss a lawsuit filed by three “Rust” crew members. : Ross Addiego, Doran Curtin, and Reese Price. Judge Biedscheid also denied a motion to delay the lawsuit until the criminal case is resolved.
Three former “Rust” crew members filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages after asserting that they were the victims of “negligent and reckless conduct” from Alec Baldwin, El Dorado Pictures, and Rust Movie Productions. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the three former employees assert that they are “entitled to receive damages for their injuries caused by the Defendant’s negligent and reckless conduct.”
The former employees are all seeking “compensatory and punitive damages, jointly and severally,” for loss of “enjoyment of life” and loss of “lost earnings value and current cash value of earning capacity.”

All three former employees described in detail what happened the day Hutchins was shot and killed. Reese Price claimed that he “saw the flash of the muzzle of the revolver in Defendant Baldwin’s hand. He felt the physical force of the gunfire in the small space. His ears started ringing. He felt as if everything was moving in slow motion. He saw Souza scream and crawl away from Defendant Baldwin. Desperate and scared, the crew began pulling on Plaintiff Price’s shirt and exiting the church. Plaintiff Price realized the gun had been fired at him and his friends.”
Ross Addiego claimed that he saw the same flash and “felt the same disorienting sound, force, and physical trauma from the shooting. He heard Souza’s muffled screams and began to wade through the chaos. He realized that he had just witnessed Defendant Baldwin fired a revolver at him and the group where he was standing.”

Doran Curtin claimed that he also felt “the same sound, force, and physical trauma” from the shooting. “He saw Hutchins fall to the ground right in front of him,” court documents state. “With Hutchins at his feet, other crew members ordered Plaintiff Curtin to remove Hutchins’ headset. He bent down and removed the equipment from Hutchins’ head. He watched in shock as Hutchins grabbed his stomach.”
It remains to be seen if Alec Baldwin will face criminal charges for her death. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has pleaded not guilty and waived her right to a preliminary hearing. His Santa Fe trial has been tentatively scheduled for February 21, 2024.
