Actor Alec Baldwin opened up about his faith in a new video posted to Instagram on Saturday.
The actor thanked God, his family, and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, for helping him through “the hardest time.” The 65-year-old actor sat down in front of his 2.5 million Instagram followers in a video that featured him listening to gospel music.
Alec Baldwin Wants To ‘Give Back Some Of What God Has Provided For Us’
The video begins with music playing in the background as the “30 Rock” actor sits in front of the camera. The music gets louder and louder as the actor sits on the couch and listens to the music, which soon reveals itself to be a gospel hymn.
In the caption of his Instagram post, the “Supercell” actor wrote, “Sometimes, my faith is the one thing that keeps me going through the hardest times. And thankful for everything God has given me. Most importantly, my wife [Hilaria Baldwin], our 7 children, and Ireland and her new family, all of whom have my heart completely.” Baldwin has eight children but shares seven with Hilaria, including a daughter named Ilaria who was welcomed last September.

Ireland Baldwin, the 27-year-old daughter the actor shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger, recently welcomed her first child with longtime boyfriend RAC. “God has been good to me. And I hope that, in the years to come, my family and I will have the opportunity to give back some of what God has provided for us,” added Baldwin.
Many fans showed their support for the actor and the music playing in the background of the video. “Love Elvis gospel. He loved God and you could tell when he was having the worst time, singing these old songs really touched his heart. She loves the harmony of the old man….very charming,” one fan commented,” another follower wrote.

Keep talking about your faith. Jesus is always with us in our joys and our pains, he knows everything,” one fan chimed in.

Is Baldwin Worried About Facing Criminal Charges In ‘Rust’ Shooting?

In January 2023, both Alec Baldwin and “Rust” actress Hannah Gutierrez-Reed faced two counts of involuntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins at Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico on October 21, 2021.
While charges against Gutierrez-Reed were not dropped and a preliminary hearing was postponed until August, charges against the 65-year-old actress were dismissed in April as a special prosecutor continued to investigate the shooting.

Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis warned Baldwin at the time that their decision to drop the charges against him did not “absolve” him of guilt in Hutchins’ death. “This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal wrongdoing and charges may be refiled,” they said in a statement at the time. “Our follow-up investigation will remain active and ongoing.”
In court documents obtained by The Blast earlier this month, they revealed the gun may have malfunctioned during the shooting; however, “the firearm used in Ms. Hutchins’ murder was damaged during testing at the FBI.” Prosecutors claimed that “No one from the prosecution team (current or past) was informed or asked to comment before this decision was made.”

While it may be impossible to determine whether the gun malfunctioned or if Baldwin pulled the trigger (something he has repeatedly denied) due to damage from FBI testing, prosecutors are still sending the gun off for further testing.
They went on to state that “The charges against Alec Baldwin were dismissed without prejudice because the possibility of firearm damage significantly affected the cause of action related to Baldwin, not related to Gutierrez. If it is determined that the gun did not work, the charges against Mr. Baldwin will go forward.”
They went on to say that “The prosecution expects to make a final charging decision regarding Mr. Baldwin within the next sixty days.”
