After many losses, Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig and his wife Lauren are expecting their first child together. On Saturday, February 11, the 30-year-old actress shared a mirror photo of the couple stroking baby Lauren’s belly while their dog, Yam, sat with them on Instagram.
Along with that, the actor included a lengthy caption that read:
“It’s a long journey, and we want to wait until things look positive this time.”
They stated that the child will be born in May 2023.

Lauren Ludwig was born on December 16, 1991, in Canada. According to her Instagram account, she is the creator of THEIR, a gender-neutral jewelry firm that uses recycled materials. She oversees marketing efforts for VRAI, a luxury goods and jewelry business located in Los Angeles. On the personal front, Alexander Ludwig and Lauren announced their romance on Instagram in July 2020. The Hunger Games actor proposed in November of the same year, and the couple married. In December 2020, they married at The Lodge, outside of Salt Lake City.
On Instagram, Alexander Ludwig announced the news, writing:
“We decided to elope. It’s been a tumultuous year, but it certainly puts things into perspective. Life is too short, and I don’t want to go another day without being able to call this beautiful woman my wife.”
In a recent Instagram post announcing their pregnancy, Alexander Ludwig revealed that the couple had experienced three miscarriages before their current pregnancy, “but each loss taught us about ourselves and each other.” However, they reassure miscarriage victims that they are not alone and that “there is light on the other side of your journey.” Lauren revealed in an open Instagram post in May 2022 that the couple had suffered a third pregnancy loss.
“Last week, @alexanderludwig and I had our third miscarriage. I choose to share because I don’t believe it’s embarrassing to talk about it. I want to let people understand how common miscarriages are and that they are nothing to be ashamed of.”
She went on to say that after such a traumatic loss, she found she was not alone, and, while common, “it’s not talked about nearly enough.”
“Maybe if more of us talked about this, we would feel less alone and less guilty. I believe that knowledge is power, and I want to start sharing more.”
