Early years
Born in Mumbai, Alia’s father is Mahesh Bhatt (Indian film director) and mother Soni Razdan (actress). While Alia’s father is of Gujarati origin, her mother is Kashmiri Pandit and of German origin. Alia’s elder sister’s name is Shaheen and brothers’ names are Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.
Alia Bhatt did her early education from Jamnabai Narsay School (Mumbai), Alia started dreaming of acting from an early age and to fulfill her dream, she started trying acting from an early age. A lover of dance along with acting, he started learning dance at Shiamak Davri Institute.
Alia first played Preity Zinta’s childhood role at the age of five in Sangarsh (1999), directed by her father.
Career
Alia started her acting career in Bollywood in 2012 with Karan Johar’s love triangle film Student of the Year. Alia was seen in the role of ‘Shanaya Singhania’ in the film and alongside her, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan also played lead roles in the film. The actress was seen in the Bollywood film Highway in 2014 as Vera Tripathi. In 2019, Alia launched her own production company “Eternal Sunshine Productions”.
Apart from acting, the actor has also sung many songs and his first song ‘Sooha Saaha’ was sung for the movie Highway (2014). In 2014 itself, he also sang the unplugged version of the song ‘Samjhawan’ from the movie ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’.
