Alleged drunk driver who fatally mowed down bride minutes after she left wedding venue planning her own nuptials – from jail

The driver accused of cutting off newlywed Samantha Miller on her wedding night began outlining his plans for his own wedding in a tearful jailhouse phone call with his father, obtained exclusively by The Post.

Jamie Lee Komoroski, 26, was three times over the legal blood alcohol limit when she plowed her Toyota into the golf cart carrying Miller, 34, and her new husband, Aric Hutchinson, 36, as they left a beach wedding in April last year, according to police.

Miller died of her injuries at the scene and died in her wedding dress.

In an emotional call from inside the Al Cannon Detention Center — where he is awaiting trial on four felony charges including reckless homicide causing death — Komoroski sobbed to his parents about his future plans.

“I want you to be at my wedding,” Komoroski told his father, Charles.

“I want you to take me down the hall. I want you with me. I want to go for a walk with you.”

Komoroski, who is from New Jersey, faces up to 25 years in prison for the crash that killed Miller and injured three others, including the groom, at Folly Beach, about 10 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina.

The Coastal Carolina University graduate also told her father she “hated it[s] not knowing” what his fate was, according to an audio recording released by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Komoroski is believed to still be dating boyfriend Evan Tatro, who has stood by her side since the fatal accident.

During a call between the two in December, Komoroski wondered how he picked up his mother at the airport while she was in jail and thanked him for her help.

“It means a lot to me,” he told her during one call.

“I can’t wait to get a hug from you, geez, you’d better wear a rain jacket,” she said, referring to how much she was going to cry when they were reunited.

Komoroski describes his day to Tatro, telling him he often showers just to do something.

He also discussed his friendship with a fellow inmate named Tanner and how they pass the time by playing Monopoly and watching TV shows, including “The Vampire Diaries” together.

“You can watch TV, play cards or go to an amusement park and there’s a medicine ball,” he explained.

“I can’t believe it’s already December to be honest, I really can’t.

“This is the hardest part, you know, so, we’ll get through it.

“I miss you.”

The couple exchanged “I love you’s” at the end of the call.

Komoroski and his relatives did not mention Hutchinson or Miller in any of the calls reviewed by The Post.

Prosecutors allege Komoroski was speeding and highly intoxicated when he crashed his car into the back of a golf cart carrying the bride, groom, and two wedding guests.

Komoroski’s defense attorneys previously asked that he be released on $100,000 bond, on the condition that he enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program, arguing that he is neither a danger to the community nor a flight risk.

They also cited Komoroski’s lack of a prior criminal history and strong family support.

But during a tearful Aug. 1 court appearance — attended by Miller’s mother — Judge Michael Nettles ordered Komoroski to remain in jail until the start of the trial, which is scheduled to take place in March.

If the trial is postponed, Komoroski can be released on a $150,000 surety bond but will be subject to electronic monitoring and house arrest.
