A man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl was punched in the face outside a Las Vegas courtroom, video shows the confrontation.
Yousuf Azami, 59, appeared in court on Tuesday for his preliminary hearing on charges of kidnapping, molestation and sexual assault of a teenage girl, KLAS reported.
At one point before the hearing, Azami stepped out of the courtroom and began walking down the aisle of the Las Vegas Justice Court, video obtained by the outlet shows.
Glenn Cromwell Jr., believed to be related to the victim in the case, then got up from the bench he was sitting on and followed Azami into the hallway and confronted him, the video shows.
The two appeared to exchange words briefly before Cromwell shoved Azami square in the face – hard enough to knock him on his back, according to the clip.

Cromwell continued to punch and kick Azami as several people, including a police officer, rushed towards them and broke up the fight.
Cromwell was arrested and charged with battery, according to KLAS.
In Azami’s case, he was charged after a teenager ran into the Mirage Hotel on September 3 and reported that he had allegedly raped her. The girl’s age was not disclosed in court documents, but she was either 14 or 15 at the time of the attack.
The teenager told police he was walking around looking to “get something to smoke and eat” when he met Azami in the parking lot of a marijuana dispensary. He got in his car and they drove to his apartment.
While in her place, the girl began to feel sleepy as Azami lay on her back.

“She stated she felt her pelvis ‘grinding’ against him and she was not wearing any clothing,” according to court documents.
The girl asked Azami to stop, took a shower and fled the apartment wearing a piece of the suspect’s clothes.
Near the Mirage, he found a man picking up his wife and telling her that “she had been kidnapped and raped and needed the police,” the document said.

Azami, who is from Afghanistan and an actor, denied having any sexual relationship with the teenager, police said. He also said he did not know the girl’s age.
He was arrested and released on $5,000 bail, KLAS reported. He is due back in court on February 20.
Cromwell was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear next March 19.
The fight took place in the same building where a man jumped on a bench and tackled a judge after he denied him a trial.
