Allen Lazard’s parents were both teachers, and he has gained a lot from them both academically and athletically. His father is a financial advisor and former high school coach, while his mother is a teacher. Allen Jamel Lazard was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 11, 1995. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets.
Lazard attended Urbandale High School and was a four-year starter on both offense and defense. Lazard participated in the 2014 US Army All-American Bowl before enrolling at Iowa State. Coming out of high school, the Iowa native was a highly touted prospect. Rivals ranks him as Iowa’s top recruit and the nation’s seventh-best receiver. In 2018, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars but was later released. The wide receiver then played four seasons (2018-2022) with the Green Bay Packers before joining the New York Jets.

Allen Lazard was born into the Lazard family, the son of Kevin and Mary Lazard. On September 22, 1996, the father and mother of the player got married. When the couple got married, their two children were already born. Allen followed in his father’s footsteps as Kevin Lazard was a famous football player at the time. Kevin Lazard attended Bellflower High School from 1985 to 1989 and graduated in 1989.
From 1989 to 1994, he attended Iowa State University and earned a BA in MIS (Management Information). He played college football there from 1989 to 1993. Kevin later earned an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix between 2006 and 2009. He currently works at Primerica as a personal finance representative. He worked as a systems analyst II at Iowa State University starting in April 2013. Kevin also worked as a development analyst at Xpanxion for a short time.
Prior to joining Primerica and Iowa State University, he worked as a systems analyst for Principal Financial Group from June 2006 to January 2013. From July 2008 to February 2012, he used his athletic abilities as an assistant varsity coach at Urbandale High School.

From 1988 to 1992, Mary Lazard earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in elementary education. She has been teaching at West Marshall CSD since August 2016. She previously worked as a teacher in Des Moines Public Schools from August 2013 to July 2016. From 2007 to 2013, Mary worked as a Production Assimilation Coordinator at Hope Lutheran Church. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as the facilities manager and class planner at SportsPlex West.
He served as a site supervisor for Youth & Shelter Services from August 2003 to August 2005. He worked as a site coordinator at Marshalltown Community Schools from August 2000 to August 2003.
Meet Allen Lazard Brother of Anthony Lazard
Anthony, Allen’s older brother, was born on May 3, 1994, and is also a former football player. The two brothers are about a year apart in age. Anthony received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health from the University of Iowa in 2016. Since January 2023, he has served as the Coordinator of Applied Sports Science and Assistant Director for Football Sports Performance at Stanford University.
Anthony served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at the Iowa State University Athletics Department in 2016 and then at Colorado State University in 2017. In 2018, he began working as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Central Methodist College in Missouri.
