On Monday’s episode of “The View: Behind The Table” podcast, Alyssa Farah Griffin told “The View” executive producer Brian Teta that Justin Timberlake should be treated better following the shocking revelation that the pop star had an abortion.
The 34-year-old conservative voice said the revelations were a “gut punch” and said she “felt strongly that both parents [should] speak up about what happened with the child” in comments transcribed by Page Six. “I’ll try to give them both some grace,” he said.
“We want to talk about this, but it’s complicated on a number of levels,” Griffin continued, explaining why they haven’t actually talked about Britney’s abortion on the daytime talk show.
“Think of the pressure these two young icons were under at that time,” he continued. “They have to live this myth and pretend – while playing very ‘sexy’ people in their public lives – [that] they’re still virgins, which as an adult now I’m like ‘of course not.'”

“I think it reveals such a human side of the story that, in retrospect, it really makes sense that they went through all that struggle,” the former White House aide said. “The challenges it presents are difficult topics to discuss in the context of reproductive health.”
He also said that it was “heartbreaking” for Britney Spears, who stated in her memoir that she agreed to an abortion because Justin was not ready to be a father.
“But I hope for her, talking about it really helped and now you see how important having kids is to her. She has her kids, she’s talked about wanting to have more … I could dissect how Britney was treated for hours,” Griffin said. . “The pressure of being hyper-sexual to having to pretend to be a virgin. They both, in different ways, went through hell and I’m going to try to give them both a little grace in it.”

I always hope we have a family together one day. This will be sooner than I expected,” he wrote in his memoirs. “But Justin is definitely not happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were too young.”
“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it was left up to me, I wouldn’t do it. But Justin was so adamant that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced in my life.”

In another quote shared by Many people magazine on Tuesday, Britney revealed that she didn’t go to the doctor for her abortion because she was worried people would find out.
“It is important that no one knows about the pregnancy or the abortion, which means doing everything at home,” he wrote. “We didn’t even tell my family. The only person who knows besides Justin and I is Felicia [Culotta, Spears’ former assistant], who is always willing to help me. I was told, ‘It might hurt a little, but you’ll be fine.’”
“On the appointed day, with only Felicia and Justin there, I took the little pill. It wasn’t long before I started having incredible cramps. I went into the bathroom and stayed there for hours, lying on the floor, sobbing and screaming,” he said.
“Justin came into the bathroom and laid on the floor with me,” she added. “At one point, he thought maybe music would help, so he got his guitar and he lay there with me strumming it.”
