Amanda Kloots Gushes About Late Husband’s Love For Being A Dad In Father’s Day Tribute

Amanda Kloots remembers her late husband, Nick Cordero, on Father’s Day 2023.

On Sunday, June 18, the co-host of “The Talk” posted a heartfelt update dedicated to the incredible men in her life, including Cordero, who died in July 2020 from complications of COVID-19. While the other men featured in her post received praise from her fans, the highlight was the late actor, who spent just a few months showing their son, Elvis Eduardo, his fatherly skills.

Although it was a bittersweet day, Kloots celebrated Father’s Day this year with a series of flashback video clips and heartfelt messages dedicated to Cordero, his father Freddie Kloots and his brother Todd Kloots. The sweet slide begins with a clip of Elvis sitting on his grandfather’s lap as he tries his hand at the drums.

The baby boy was wearing a long-sleeved mustard yellow shirt and black trousers, while Freddie looked on in a button-down long-sleeved shirt and jeans. Elvis reappears in the second slide, seemingly learning to say “Happy birthday, mama” from his platinum-haired uncle.

Although the cute little one didn’t say the words perfectly, she was excited to be cheered on by Todd, who was dressed in brown. For the third slide, Amanda chose a clip showing Cordero holding their then-baby in a baby carrier strapped to her chest.

The father-of-one beamed at the camera before swaying to the beat of the song playing in the background to his wife’s delight. He’s wearing a multi-colored plaid shirt, khaki shorts, and matching loafers for now.

Beginning the long caption with a focus on her dad, Amanda called Freddie “the best Dad and Grandpa,” who always had time “for a hug when you needed one or a leak in your face if he found one!” Next, the “Dancing with the Stars” contestant bragged that she “really won the lottery here with the brothers,” adding:

“Todd is the best Dad and has stepped up to be a second Dad to Elvis. My brother is the most loving, most creative, funniest Dad I know! Love you Biggie!”

For her beloved husband, Amanda stated that Cordero wanted to be a father since childhood, choosing the name of his daughter at the age of ten. The “Fit for Christmas” star continued:

“He loved Elvis so much! He likes to play music for her and take her for walks. I really hope I get to see him be a Dad for more than 10 months. I wish I could see him now with Elvis, playing music or a monster truck. Nick is a big kid, I know he will love watching Elvis grow.

“You talk about Nick with joy and love. How lucky Elvis was to see him…such a gift,” one quickly commented, while another wrote, “I’m sure Nick would be proud of Elvis and you too for being such a great parent to Elvis.”

A third claimed, “Nick smiled down. Amanda you are the best. Mom and dad,” and a fourth added, “Nick must have loved Elvis and an amazing mom like you to him.”

Amanda had evoked a similar reaction when she publicly recalled fond memories of her and Cordero’s short-lived time together ahead of Elvis’ fourth birthday. As reported by The Blast, the mother of one uploaded a video highlighting some of the memorable moments the 41-year-old shared with their son before his passing.

The clip is set to audio of the Tony Award nominee explaining the birth of Elvis and how he and his wife, as new parents, felt a mixture of joy and fear to the audience. Amanda’s touching caption begins:

“On the eve of Elvis’s 4th birthday, I was reminded of a wonderful recording of Nick’s one man show about being a parent. He was so excited for Elvis to be born, to be a father.”

The fitness instructor revealed that Cordero had written that she hoped their son would be “good, confident, and happy” before continuing, “I think Nick would be very proud of his little boy. Not only because he’s a little rockstar, just like his dad, but because Elvis was so full of love, happiness and joy. I promised Nick I would give Elvis the world and I will try to keep that promise forever.”

In closing, the dancer expressed her satisfaction that her baby boy “will be able to hear his Daddy talk about being his father” and encouraged his fans to “Take a video. Take a picture. Record things, your voice, a letter!” because they “will never be enough!”
