Amber Heard is thrilled with the success of “Aquaman 2” and knows it couldn’t have happened without her fans!
The actress has to be thankful that she almost lost her pivotal role as Mera, a sexy red-haired character with terrifying hydrokinetic powers, in the DC film sequel. Many called for him to be fired from the project, but his followers, including billionaire Elon Musk, fought to keep him on set.
Amber Heard Gives Flowers To Her Fans
Despite the odds stacked against her, Heard remains positive thanks to her adoring fans and their war against those trying to get her character back. She penned a heartfelt note to her followers in a new social media post, sharing three images of her character’s signature red hair.
The first shot is a close-up of the actress’ glamorous face with her sleek red hair falling to her shoulders in waves. The second slide looks like a throwback shot from “Aquaman 1,” with Heard’s red hair styled into a bun as she bottle-feeds her infant daughter, Oonagh.
The final image captures Heard’s excitement as she flashes her tongue at the camera while sitting in a vehicle. This moment may occur before or after a movie scene with the performer trying to hide her special effects makeup behind sunglasses.
The three images show how happy the 37-year-old is to embody his famous character, and he thanks those who made this reality possible. Showing off her fun side, Heard sweetly put the Instagram caption to words, writing:
“After this, Aquaman 2 made a splash (sorry, it was too easy) ? Thanks to all my fans for the incredible support and love in the return of AQ Mera. Thank you so much ❤ #aquaman.”
While appreciative of fans’ continued support, the mother-of-one isn’t risking letting trolls in, turning off comments on the post. Her thank you note comes two months after her followers slammed Warner Bros for not including Mera in the “Aquaman 2” trailer.
Fans Hate Warner Bros For Absence Of Amber Heard In ‘Aquaman 2’ Teaser
Last November, fans didn’t mince their words against the production giant following the release of the highly anticipated “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” teaser. The clip captures the film’s lead, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and other stars, including Black Manta villain Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, but no Heard.
The actress’ complete absence contrasts with her blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance towards the end of the first trailer released in September. This lack of appearance seems to suggest Heard won’t have much of a presence in the actual film, but director James Wan denies it was intentional.
“I have always communicated this to everyone from the very beginning. The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second film is usually Arthur and Orm,” explained Wan. “So, the first is a romantic action-adventure film, the second is a bromance action-adventure film. We leave it alone.”

The director’s explanation did not satisfy Heard’s fans, who lashed out at Warner Bros for deliberately omitting Mera’s presence in connection with her high-profile defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp. One supporter declared:
“Warner bros released The Flash despite all the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, but cutting Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 was just plain mean and weird as s–t.”
Another voiced similar sentiments, writing: “It makes no sense to center the movie around rescuing Arthur Jr., and his mom seems to have minimal involvement. Y’all let Ezra Miller have their movie, Rihanna has Johnny Depp in her fashion show, & Loki still has the Majors. But you guys draw the line at Amber Heard, oh okay.”
“Cutting Mera/Amber Heard is insane…. I’m glad the DCEU was washed out because this all felt tacky and killed any fun I had left. Bury that with this movie,” a third argued. Before fans could voice their displeasure, a shocking report revealed Heard’s ex-boyfriend Elon Musk has retained his role in “Aquaman 2.”
Sources claim the 37-year-old almost lost the role due to a lack of chemistry with Momoa, a sentiment former DC Films head Walter Hamada echoed in the defamation lawsuit. However, Warner Bros couldn’t fire her thanks to her ex-boyfriend.
Insiders revealed the Tesla CEO defended the actor behind the scenes by having one of his lawyers send “a scorched letter to Warner Bros. threatening to “burn down the house” if Heard doesn’t return for “Aquaman 2.”
