Amber Heard will reportedly face no further charges for illegally bringing her dog into Australia.

Now, a new report reveals that prosecutors are no longer taking any further action against Heard.

Amber Heard Illegally Importing Her Dog Into Australia

In 2015, Amber Heard got into trouble with the Australian authorities for illegally importing her dog into Australia.
At the time, the actress brought her two dogs to the Gold Coast to join her husband, Johnny Depp, on a film set. Upon entry, Heard failed to declare the dog’s presence, in violation of state quarantine regulations.
In July of that year, representatives of the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions confirmed that they had charged Heard with one count of illegally importing his Yorkshire terrier. They also charged the “Aquaman” actor with one count of presenting false documents to authorities upon entry.
He Pleaded Guilty to Forging Documents

At the time, Heard pleaded guilty to a charge of providing false immigration documents and was sentenced to a one-month good behavior bond. Per ABC Newsthe Australian authorities decided to drop the charges of illegally importing the two dogs.
According to the publication, Heard’s lawyer insists the actress never intended to lie and did not declare her dog. However, in 2020, several allegations arose that Heard was aware of the quarantine rules. Statements from Kevin Murphy, Depp’s former employee, support these claims during their defamation trial.
Murphy testified that not only was Heard conscious, but he also pressured a staff member to admit responsibility for the crime. According to Australian Broadcasting Corporationthis evidence led Australian authorities to open an investigation into Heard for perjury during her hearing in 2016.
Australian Prosecutors Opt To Drop Case

On Tuesday, Australia’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry announced that prosecutors were dropping the investigation into Heard. They released a statement that read, “Prosecution action will not be taken against actress Amber Heard over allegations related to her conviction for illegally importing two dogs into Australia in 2015.”
The statement revealed that they have investigated evidence that Heard lied about not knowing the quarantine rules in 2016. They are also examining the employee’s testimony to determine whether they were made under duress.
However, the statement concluded, “Some evidence has been referred to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, who has decided not to prosecute in this matter having applied the Commonwealth Prosecution Policy.” So, Heard is free to worry about any further charges on this issue.
Amber Heard And Depp Have A Controversial Breakup

Heard has been at the center of several controversial trials, including her defamation trial against Depp. The former couple separated and finalized their divorce in January 2017 but soon started fighting each other with accusations and attempts.

In a recent conversation with Deadline about his career and his returning role in “Aquaman 2,” the actor candidly spoke about the legal battle, sharing his willingness to leave things in the past.
“You know, I just want to make movies and be appreciated as an actor,” Heard said. “I don’t want to be crucified to be appreciated as one.”
