Amber Heard’s Training Was Insane For Fight Scenes In ‘Aquaman 2’ [VIDEO]

Amber Heard is loving every moment of her role as Mera in “Aquaman 2” and has the BTS act to prove it!

While the drama surrounding the DC film sequel almost saw the actor lose his iconic role, the underwhelming moments seem to have become his strength. The 37-year-old recently shared a rare clip of his fight scenes from the Warner Bros project, showing just how much effort he put into fleshing out his fictional villainous character.

Amber Heard Gives Fans a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Her Training Footage for ‘Aquaman 2’

Heard’s latest Instagram Story update features two videos from stunt training with renowned martial artist Shane Yan. In the first clip, the two practice a fight sequence in a fitness studio, with the actor wielding a black staff while the stuntman defends himself with a sheathed sword.

The entertainer showed off her impressive figure in a crop top and black leggings as she held the staff with ease and defied her trainer’s moves.

Her incredible moves continue in her next video, where she rocks yet another crop top and leggings combo. However, Heard’s opponents grew to two men, who followed the fight routine of attacking simultaneously and then asking him to take them down one by one.

“Aquaman training 2. Thanks to the incredible patience of my incredible stunt team. Especially @mightykungfu ?”

Heard’s behind-the-scenes clip comes shortly after she thanked fans for supporting her return as Mera in the DC film. She shared three photos depicting her fictional character’s signature red hair, with the first capturing a close-up of her glamorous face and her hair falling to her shoulders in waves.

In an instant, the doting mother was smiling as she fed the baby with her red hair styled in a bun.

For the final image, Heard showed off her playful side by flashing her tongue at the camera as she posed in a vehicle. The photo may have been taken before or after filming a movie scene when she tried to hide her special effects makeup behind sunglasses.

Fans Attack Warner Bros Over Amber Heard’s Absence In Aquaman 2′ New Trailer

Heard’s fan appreciation post comes two months after her followers called out Warner Bros for removing her character from the “Aquaman 2” trailer. The actress’ character, Mera, was not seen in the teaser released in November 2023.

The 1 minute 30 second trailer of the film begins with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman talking to his son and promising a great future where they will explore their unique abilities to the fullest. However, their happy dreams are destroyed when the villain Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, comes to take revenge.

The teaser also includes the return of Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother Atlanna, but no Mera as the current Queen of Atlantis. This complete absence contrasts with the first trailer, where Heard appears in his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it; however, the director of the sequel claims he was accidentally left out of the footage. In the words of James Wan:

“I have always communicated this to everyone from the very beginning. The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first is a romantic action-adventure film; the second is a bromance action-adventure film. We leave it alone.”

Despite the director’s claims, fans slammed Warner Bros. for Heard’s absence, with many speculating she had been removed because of her defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp. One individual wondered: “Is Aquaman now a single father? LMFAO. Are they just pretending Amber Heard isn’t playing Mera?”

Another claimed: “If Aquaman turns out to be a success, they’ll say it’s because the promotion didn’t have Amber, and if it fails, they’ll blame her; it’s a lose-lose game.” One disgruntled fan accused Warner Bros. of playing favorites, writing:

“Warner bros released The Flash despite all the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, but cutting Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 was just plain mean and weird as s–t.”

Another fan shared, “Cutting Mera/Amber Heard is crazy…. I’m glad the DCEU was washed out because this all felt tacky and killed any fun I had left. Bury that with this movie.”
