Amisha Amit Patel was born on Wednesday, June 9, 1976 (age: 47 years, in 2023) in Breach Candy Hospital, Bombay, Maharashtra (now Mumbai, Maharashtra), India. When she was just five years old, she started dancing and learning ‘Bharatanatyam’ and became a trained ‘Bharatanatyam’ dancer. He got his primary education from Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai.

She made her debut with Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ (2000). The film was a hit at the box office. He became a rising star overnight.
In the same year, he also made his Telugu debut with the film, ‘Badri,’ which was also a hit. In 2001, he appeared in ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ which went on to become one of the biggest hits in the history of Indian Cinema.
In 2003, Patel made his Tamil debut with ‘Pudhiya Geethai.’ After that, his films started failing at the box office, and he struggled to deliver big hits. In 2007, she finally got her lost image from the film, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ with co-star, Akshay Kumar. In 2008, she did a bikini item number, ‘Lazy Lamhe’ in Kunal Kohli’s ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’. However, later on, she disappeared from her mainstream acting career. Controversy
- In August 2006, an Air India employee filed a complaint against him. The employee alleged that Patel misbehaved with her when her friend (Patel) was not upgraded to first class on a Mumbai-New York flight on August 18, 2006. Patel was to attend the annual Indian Independence Day parade in New York. However, the Parade organizers sent an apology letter and explained that they had booked two first class tickets for Patel and his friend but the booking was automatically transferred from one flight to another, which caused confusion.
- When she dated the director and producer, Vikram Bhatt, there was a rift between her and her family. He accused his father of extorting Rs. 12 crores to revive the family business. In July 2004, He sent a legal notice to his father and asked for his money back. However, later in 2009, the matter was resolved.
- In April 2022, a complaint was filed against Ameesha Patel by a social worker named Sunil Jain who accused the actress of ‘cheating’ the organizers of an event. In his complaint, he said that the actress was forced to perform for an hour at an event in Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh for which he charged Rs. 4 lakhs; however, he left the show after only performing for three minutes. Later, the actress explained through a tweet that she left the show because she feared for her life.

- Ameesha Patel was booked under section 420, 120 CrPC in April 2023 for business fraud and bounced checks along with her business partner Krunal; Their arrest warrant was issued by a Ranchi court. The actor and his partner were accused of fraud, intimidation and check bounce by a film producer from Jharkhand named Ajay Kumar Singh. In 2013, Ameesha and Krunal borrowed Rs 2.5 crore from the complainant to make and promote a film titled Desi Magic; however, the film was never released, and they did not refund the money. The actor allegedly gave her two checks worth Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh in October 2018, which bounced. On 17 June 2023, the Ranchi Civil Court granted him bail after he surrendered before the court.
