Career

At the age of 20, Amit spent a lot of time at his cousin’s salon and that’s where he got the inspiration to become a hairdresser. Amit Thakur’s first success was when he styled Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi’s hair; she styles her hair for public events including magazine photo shoots and film promotions.

Amit was 21 years old when he grabbed his first chance to showcase his talent at a fashion week.

Later, Amit Thakur went on to become one of the most popular hair stylists in India, and he showcased his hair styling skills at various shows, brand endorsements and events like IIFA, Filmfare and Stardust Awards. Her work has been featured in many popular magazines including Vogue India, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Vogue Italia, and Femina.

In 2018, he styled Deepika Padukone’s look for the film Padmavat. Amit styled Katrina Kaif during the promotions of Hindi films Bharat (2019) and Sooryavanshi (2021).

Drug Chat 2017 Deepika Padukone

In 2017, Amit Thakur was mentioned in one of Deepika Padukone’s leaked chats, about drugs, with her manager Karishma Prakash. During a phone conversation initiated by a reporter, Amit initially confirmed it was him, but when asked if he was linked to Deepika Padukone’s chat, he denied it and said,

It’s a wrong number, I don’t know which Amit you mean. You’re talking to the wrong person.’
