Amy Schumer has recently been going through a bit of a rough time since her son Gene was hospitalized, making it the “hardest week” of her life. He took to Instagram to narrate his ordeal while updating fans on his latest project using some fun pictures and detailed messages.
Amy Schumer’s Son Was Rushed To The ER And Admitted Because Of RSV

The “Last Comic Standing” star posted seven images of herself alone in one and with a colleague in several others. They all appear to be in the small room where the scene was filmed. The first slide is a rear view video of a movie star and a woman discussing in front of a small screen by the window of the room.
And in the next photo, the woman’s face is captured with a bright smile. The third slide is a full shot of Schumer rocking a short black dress and matching platform heels. At the same time, she posed with two other men in a fourth snap; one wears a military uniform, while the other makes funny faces for the camera.
Fans can see the stand-up comedian looking beaming and happy amidst four others in the first slide, while what follows is a multi-faceted photo of him forming on a shelf.
Rounding out the photo, she posted a glimpse of what could be a make-up room on set, with a variety of wigs laid out on a table. The Peabody Award winner admitted in the caption:
“This has been the hardest week of my life. I missed practice Thursday when my son was rushed to the ER and put on RSV.”
Shout out to all the parents who have been through the same thing, she mentioned that she had to stay with the little one all day. Even so, he appreciates the “beautiful people” who supported him at the hospital. And thankfully, Gene is now home and doing better.
Elaborating on her latest project – a show she considers “fun,” Schumer noted that the reason behind it being so fun has nothing to do with the show or the production itself.
He believes “spending time with the people there” makes it more fun, including actors, writers and his favorite: those who work behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly.
The co-producer of “Inside Amy Schumer” listed the first names of her favorite crew: “Donna, Jerry, Jodi, Genna, and Tom Wally, among others. And in conclusion, she wrote:
“Lorne has assembled the most talented people with the kindest hearts. Thank you to everyone there and to the doctors and nurses who helped us.”
Giving birth to her only child, Gene, in 2019 was without a doubt one of the happiest achievements of Schumer’s life, but of course, as a new mother, she wanted more children. She went through invitro fertilization shortly after birth; however, things did not go so well.
In March, she opened up about the experience to Chelsea Handler while appearing on the iHeartRadio podcast “Dear Chelsea.” “I did IVF,” the “Trainwreck” actress shared. “We made embryos, and I went through the IVF process, which was very difficult. People do it many times. I did it one time, and I was like, I’m going to die. This is horrible.”
After getting about thirty-one eggs, she feels hot and like “Muna Subur;” unfortunately, she ended up with one normal embryo that didn’t work after testing.
The author of ‘The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo’ misses Mother’s Day because of COVID
Two years after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Schumer contracted the virus and joined many celebrities who have spoken about their experiences. The Blast noted that the 41-year-old had to cancel his appearance on the “Netflix is a Joke” program on Saturday night despite performing at the event the day before.
Afterward, she took to social media to share the news of her infection in typical Schumer fashion — with humor, to downplay the seriousness of the situation. The Grammy nominee announced, “I’m sad to say I have to cancel my show in LA tonight. I was the first woman to ever get COVID.”
She added, “I tested positive for COVID-19 about an hour ago, so yeah, please, I don’t know … but at least my hair looks good.” Schumer went into isolation almost immediately to recover from the infection, hoping to make a full recovery as soon as possible.
