Miss Republica Dominicana 2021
On November 7, 2021, Martínez represented the Dominican community in the United States and won the title of Miss Republica Dominicana 2021. She competed with 14 other candidates at this event, which was held at the Salón de Eventos Sambil in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

24-year-old Andreína Martínez should compete at Miss Universe 2021; however, it was later announced that he contracted COVID-19 which forced him to withdraw his name and undergo quarantine. She was later replaced by Miss Republica Dominicana 2021 first runner-up, Debbie Aflalo, who later represented the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel on December 12, 2021. Andreína was later named Miss Dominican Republic 2022 and is said to compete in the 2022 edition.

On January 15, 2023, the 25-year-old Martínez competed with 83 other candidates and represented the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2022, which was held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, United States. During the competition, she was asked about the most significant obstacles facing women in her country and what steps should be taken about them. Andreina replied,
I believe the most significant obstacle facing women in my country is access to education. There are some women and children in our country who cannot go to school and have no lack of access to go to them and I believe we should do something about it now. We need to make sure that children are able to be children, they want to play, to educate themselves. Not a mother, not a wife. The time is now to take action.”
During the finals of Miss Universe 2022, Andreína Martínez was asked how she would work to show “Miss Universe is an empowering and progressive organization” if she wanted to win. He amazed everyone by saying,
I understand the Miss Universe organization is looking for an ambassador, someone who can convey the message. I have worked for women’s rights for as long as I can remember. I’m here to show us that no matter where you come from, your background doesn’t define you. your courage and determination are you. And I will show it by working in your organization every day showing my ownership and determination.”
She won the 2nd runner-up title at Miss Universe 2022 while R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States was crowned the 71st Miss Universe.

In 2016, Andreína worked as an academic tutor and taught Spanish to foreign students studying at the City University of New York City College until 2020. In 2016, she became an ambassador for America Needs You, which is a non-profit organization. In 2017, Martínez interned under Senator José Serrano in the New York State Senate for four months. From September 2017 to May 2018, he was a health educator at Peer Health Exchange where he provided health education to high school students from 9th to 12th standard. In 2018, Andreína worked as a Capitol Hill Intern for Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand in Washington DC In the office of Senator Kristen Gillibrand where she found her passion for preserving women’s rights and has become an advocate for public policies that advance women. Later, he worked as a legislative and budget intern at the New York City Council. Martínez has been working for women’s empowerment and their rights since she was 16 years old.
