Season 38 of “Jeopardy!” champion Andrew Dia welcomed a son while competing in the “Jeopardy! Masters Tournament”.

Several fans who attended a recent taping took to Reddit to share the news that their taping had been rescheduled due to what host Ken Jennings described as “a happy kind of emergency.”

On Monday night, “Jeopardy! Masters” host Ken Jennings allowed Andrew to announce to the world that he had welcomed a son while the tournament was being filmed. “There’s been a big change in your life since we last saw you, hasn’t it Andrew?” asked Ken.

“Oh, yes now I have a newborn son,” Andrew replied as the audience cheered. “Thanks to everyone in the world, I guess, but especially the Jeopardy crew. I’m doubly blessed to go from being here on stage to within 24 hours going with my partner and welcoming our son.”

“I just want to tell Sarah, I love you very much. This is for you and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. So I have to bring back something nice for you and baby Everett,” he finished as the audience cheered again.

“Jeopardy!” The Instagram account shared their page exchange, adding the caption, “Congratulations to Andrew and his family! Can’t wait to see your new addition on #Jeopardy! level in a few years.” Many fans took to the comments to congratulate Andrew on his new joy.

Although some fans expected Andrew He to win the “Jeopardy! Masters Tournament”, he faced stiff competition from season 38 Tournament of Champions winner Amy Schneider. In an interview with the San Francisco Bay Times ahead of the show’s premiere, Amy revealed that he has a new strategy to enter the new tournament.

“With almost every game of Jeopardy!, if you lose, you’re done. This is a different scenario, like a sports league season. You keep playing. If you lose, you will get up and take it to the next match,” he explained. “That will be interesting. How do you adjust throughout the season? How do you change your game when you’re up against James Holzhauer, against Matt Amodio or Sam Buttrey? Does that change the way you play the game? That is something that Jeopardy! didn’t have the opportunity to explore before.”

He said that knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses is “exactly” the point of the new tournament, which features the six strongest players in “Jeopardy!” history.

The tournament begins on May 8 and will run throughout the month. On Wednesday, May 17, the show aired its regular finale. The first round of the semi-finals will begin on Monday, May 22. The second round will begin on Tuesday, May 23, and the final will begin the following day.
