Andrew Tate Hit With Charges Of Rape And Human Trafficking By Romanian Authority

Andrew Tate has found himself embroiled in yet another legal battle.

The troubled journey of the controversial figure continues as he is still involved in one legal test after another. After his arrest in December 2022 and subsequent months in prison in Romania, Tate faced more serious charges. These serious allegations cast a shadow over the once-prominent figure, causing widespread concern and scrutiny.

Andrew Tate Indicted On Charges Of Human Trafficking And Rape

Known for his controversial views expressed online, the social media personality has been charged with rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women.

In a significant development, prosecutors have also filed charges against Tate’s brother, Tristan, and two Romanian women. According to the country’s anti-organized crime agency, charges have been filed in a court in Bucharest, the Romanian capital.

Ap news reported that the Directorate of Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation issued a statement alleging that the four defendants formed a criminal group in 2021 with the intention of “committing the crime of human trafficking.”

Allegedly operating across Romania, the United States and Britain, the group is accused of luring and transporting seven female victims who were then subjected to sexual exploitation and physical violence.

More troubling, one of the defendants was also accused of raping a woman on two separate occasions in March 2022. The 36-year-old, who has lived in Romania since 2017, denied the charges, claiming the case was a political conspiracy to silence him.

Tate’s spokeswoman, Mateea Petrescu, insisted in a statement that both Tate and her brother are determined to “prove their innocence and vindicate their reputations.” As the court hearing approaches in Bucharest, scheduled for Wednesday morning, all eyes are on the outcome of the legal proceedings.

The shocking revelation comes as reports indicate that three women are preparing to file a lawsuit against the former professional kickboxer, alleging rape and assault.

These allegations date back almost ten years, when the woman initially complained to the authorities. However, they argued that the case had been mishandled, accusing detectives of insufficient investigation which led to the case being dropped.

In pursuit of justice, the three women launched a crowdfunding campaign called Crowd Justice, successfully raising over £8,000 to reach £50,000 to aid in their legal battle.

Their statement of appeal read, “We are three survivors of Andrew Tate’s violent and misogynistic ideology. While in the UK, Tate subjected other women and us to serious and violent sexual and physical assault. Despite facing prosecution in Romania, he has never been held accountable for his crimes in the UK.”

They made their intentions clear, announcing their determination to “take action to encourage a criminal investigation in the UK and pursue a civil case against” Tate for “compensation to help rebuild” their lives.

When he appeared in court on Tuesday, March 14, Andrew was hoping for a favorable verdict that would lead to an acquittal. However, a court in Bucharest rejected his bail plea, dashing his hopes for immediate freedom.

A representative of the athlete stated, “Unfortunately, the Romanian judicial system rejected Andrew Tate’s request for bail today. We are disappointed by this decision as we had high hopes to see Andrew reunited with his family. His legal team will appeal this decision within 48 hours.”

His jail term is set to continue until at least March 29, with the prosecution indicating their intention to continue his imprisonment. Despite being arrested, the media personality has maintained his innocence, vehemently denying all the allegations against him.

Tate, either in person or through a representative, took to Twitter on February 28 to express his disappointment, claiming that he had given his full cooperation and met all of his requests. He asserted, “I have 500 videos, photos, and other evidence that prove my innocence. But I’m still in jail. What does Romania want from me?”
